You need to get hold of the deeds and all the correspondence regarding the purchase in order to see how the property was intended to be divided up. You are entitled to ask for this from the conveyancing lawyerssmile

I split up from my childrens mum 6 years ago, we were never married but had been together for 10 years and had 3 children. In that time we had brought a family home, we are now selling this and I wanted to get a clear indication in what she would be entitled to. It had always been 50:50, there is no paperwork stating that though.

I have paid more towards the mortgage of the house even though she had her husband (ex got married this year) and herself living there.

I have always paid a maitenance to her (£330 put towards mortgage), I also contribute half towards school trips/uniforms/outings.

I ideally want 50% but am willing to negotiate if must but just want to know where i stood legally?
