Best way to get good will advice?

Dh and I need to write a will
It will be our first one, and our finances are pretty straightforwards, simple savings, house and couple of insurance policies linked to death via mortgage and work, we have one dc who is a baby
I'm keen we get it done properly so we receive good advice to ensure our son is cared for should anything bad happen! This would cover guardianship and finance
So, how doi go about finding a good solicitor/ arranger etc and what should I expect to pay?
It seems every 2bit junior can arrange them, but I want someone experienced etc
Dont have any friends or family locally to get recommends from
Thanks

look for mumblechum/marlowwills

She gave me some fantastic advice, she pays for a small ad on here and there is no VAT to pay as she's a small business Grin

Our wills which sound similar - simple but with one DC, cost £290.

I can't tell you how to get a solicitor as we found ours based on recommendation - someone known to family but I would get a properly qualified solicitor.

who specialises in wills and probate. (sorry, missed that bit off)

Presumably there is a list somewhere on the net via law society website or something similar.

You might be interested in a fantastic website that was recommended to me by a friend where you can write your will for FREE, really. it only covers basic wills but that was fine for me as I really only wanted to sort out guardians for my children. They also have a helpline if you have any questions. The website is: get a free will online. co uk. They also offer to look after your will for £3.99 for my lifetime, fantastic.
