Is there a way of finding out about possible court cases past or present?

I'm trying to find out if someone has been to court recently or is due to go for trial or sentencing in the next couple of weeks. I've spent all afternoon and evening googling with no joy. I have no info whatsoever so need to be able to search both crown & magistrates. Thanks

local newspapers usually have a section reporting cases (crown and magistrates) so I would check there. I would phone the newspaper to ask about which days etc they are reporting in which paper iyswim.

Thanks, checked court serve last night, nothing so I'm guessing it must be magistrates (I'm only guessing it's in the next 2 weeks that the case is from what I've been told).

The court round up for our local paper used to be Thursday but I know they don't report everything, the person in question has been to court at least 3 times that I know of in the past and none of those were recorded in the court round up section.

Is it the kind of information that I would be able to find out directly if I were to phone the courts do you know?

We have a similar situation at the present time. We only found out via the local press, which we do not usually get. It was heard in the Magistrates' Court and sent to Crown Court. I rang the listing officer of the court and they told me to ring the day prior to the hearing after 3 pm and they could then confirm if the hearing was going ahead and in which court. Clearly they could not give me any details but the date etc is a matter of public record.

Well I've phoned the courts and they were very helpful. They were able to tell me that the person in question is in court this week and I can call him back the day after to find out the details. This could be a good week!
