Is this a legal way to advertise or not. Do you need permission from the county council?

TIA

I think it depends on whether it's a main thoroughfare. I vaguely remember a case years ago where someone had to apply for planning permission to put a sign up on an Aroad, but that was a permanent sign.

Do you mean a banner just for a few days to advertise a school fete or something like that?

Thanks for the reply. Its for our business, we were thinking about putting it onto the railings around a fairly busy roundabout in our town (not an A road). Tesco often have their banners on there as do weatherspoons and the local radio station, though the latter two have premises right on the roundabout.

Not sure how lond we'd leave it there, maybe only a week and then move it on.

As a minimum, you'd need the permission of the owner of the railings.

Meditrina, thanks for the advice, I'm looking into it.
