I have poor neglected dc ,the last few weeks have been filled up with morning sickness and snotty ill children ,So our routine has gone out of the window .
I am just about on top of the housework again but I am feeling a bit rubbish about bedtime routines ,ds goes about 8.30pm and reads for 30 mins ,and I used to read a story to all the dd's together but now dd 1 wont listen to baby storys and the other two just don't understand chapter books yet .
DP can not really help he is either at work early evening and when he is home is very self conscious due to his dyslexia about reading to them (although he does sometimes make up storys which they all love) .
I suppose what I am asking for is some help with bedtime routine so I am not spending all night reading 3 books and missing out on time with MN DP .

how I managed that when my ds got to that stage was to bring the younger two's bed time forward by 15 min. then I could read to the older one after finishing there story.

I must be very lucky all the girls go to bed at 7-7.30, I read them a story (they share a room) then put on a story cd...no trouble yet but I know it's coming!! Hope you start feeling better soon, not much help sorry.

Similar to Sunshineday- we put all the dc to bed together and the eldest dc pretends to go to sleep. He then comes back downstairs for what he calls his 'wink' ( an extended bedime). He is then quite happy to go along with the baby stories knowing that we will be able to do more grwon up things with him in a short while.

Good luck with the pregnancy and HTH
