Car query

I have one son aged 3, another aged 18 months and due in two weeks with number 3. So I need to find out what sort of cars can fit two forward facing child seats (they are both Mamas & Papas) and a rear facing child seat.
I really don't want a mini van, we tested a second hand Zafira - but my husband at 6foot2 found getting behind the wheel a hassle.
Any suggestions as you can imagine I also need one with lots of boot space.

Cant answer the question but we have a Renault Grand Senic and you would struggle i.e. major squash with one of those so avoid if pos. You are going to find it difficult to find a car if you're not prepared for something with 7 seats.

He is a motoring correspondent for the Saturday Telegraph and has a page every week where he does just what you're asking ofr - ie he looks at someone's needs, current car, finance, wishes etc and finds them the best choice for them. I'm not saying he'll choose you for his article but he'll give you some ideas.

we have two forward facing seats in it and a booster seat, but we had a rear facing seat when baby was smaller

you can get the 3 seats in a row in the back or turn off teh front air bags and put it in the front ( obviouisly not very good if you have another front seat passenger)

there is lots of room inside to stand over screaming toddler and put them in car seat. saves your back

can get a double buggy in the boot easily

Our Ford Mondeo has a 9mths to 4 years forward facing seat on left passenger side, then the Fisher Price Safe Voyage forward facing 9mth to 4 years seat in the middle with the lap belt, leaving room for a rear facing baby seat on right hand driver's side when baby is born.

We have 3 forward facing child seats across the back of our Volvo V70, although it's a bit of squeeze! As the baby seat will be smaller yours should all fit easily.

Having said that we're now looking at changing to an Volvo XC90 so that we've got an extra row of seats when the Mother in Law wants to come too

what about a megane scenic? it has the 3 individual back seats so should fit the 3 car seats. when they first came out (1998 or so i think) i had a friend whose other half was around 6ft and they were happy with theirs.

we've a vw sharan as we've 4 children + camping gear to lug around several times a year!
