Do you spend a vast chunk of your weekend doing 'chores'?

I only have 3! BUT, this weekend I have spent nearly all weekend washing, hanging up washing, taking kids to parties, swimming, tidying pit of dd1and2 room, sweeping up leaves, cooking, etc, etc, etc. Dp works away for big chunk of week and have a 4 month old baby who just doesn't seem to sleep in the day so I seem to be getting nothing done other than school runs and homework and bit of tidying.
It is so chaotic, am I just horribly disorganised?

Get a sling for the 4 month old and do housework whenever. Or just leave her to play under baby gym.

When we don't have a cleaner (don't atm, usually do) then yes. Although we have no activities but do have some social events. But even just the washing, keeping on top of the kitchen etc takes loads of time. I resnt it HUGELY tbh, there's so much stuff I would rather be doing.

No.
I have a strict routine.

Sat morning before 9am i go to do the shopping, based on a meal plan for the week (made up on a Friday night), i make my shopping list.

I do washing Thurs & Friday night,
Washing is left to dry on the maiden or outside while i am at work on Friday.
all ironing on Sat. Done by lunch time.

I have a Monday off from work, i clean the whole house as soon as my son is at school.

Also dont start work till 1pm on a Friday so quick run round with the hoover, wash the floors and clean the bathroom.

Sundays are free, take ds swimming for an hour.
Saturday afternoons are free.

But then when ds was 4 months old, i was a complete wreck, going to the supermarket in my slippers, forgetting why i was there because actually i had set off to Tesco so why on earth am i now stood in morrisons with my slippers on????

Sounds like you have got allot more on your plate than i have!

SO in that case, it will all get done when you get round to it and no sooner. Dont be harsh on yourself.

(ps i am a control freak)

Yes!
Have just ventured into the bedrooms of nos 1 and 2 ...had thought before then that I was getting ahead of the game. Big mistake, because not only have I found a heap of stinking clothes that show no signs of moving themselves to the washing macine, but I've also remembered that it must be * weeks since the beds were last changed. Ho hum.

No - which is why my house is a tip but I have decided I would rather live in a mess and actually have a life than spend it constantly cleaning.

Yes - Weekends just run into weekdays. There is no weekend time off. Still can't get to grips on house work. Am disaster.

Yes to Q in title, I can keep reasonably on top of laundry/dishes/routine stuff, but there is a massive backlog of other jobs that need doing (door frame to repair, wood that needs painting, that kind of stuff).

I think that is normal with a tiny baby to be honest. It gets much easier once you get past the weaning/pureeing stage and they are walking etc.

Still though, much of my life seems to be chasing my tail shovelling the mess that the four males in this house make. As soon as they are old enough, they will be armed with a duster and hoover!
