Bit of advice needed please

At the moment I have a Vauxhall Meriva but I am needing to change to a 7 seater.

I have 2DC, 10.5yr DD is almost 5ft and DD2 is 3.5yrs. During school holidays I will also have my sisters 3 kids most of the time, 14yr, 10.5yr & 1yr. And my mum.

Hate the back seats in the Meriva and as the Zafira is the same I want to steer clear of these even though they are cheapest.

Also will need enough boot space for a buggy, not an umbrella fold type either.

Ideas and suggestions wantedConfused

We have a Grand Espace and have had no problems with it.

We have a Mitsubishi spacewagon

Which doesn't exist anymore

But, my point is that we love the car and if we needed a new one would definitely get another Mitsubishi

It is 14 years old in august and has never let me down, and we run our cars into the ground

We have also looked at the ford s max which looks very good and the peugeot 5008 looks good as well (though we haven't seen one in the flesh)

We have a 2007 automatic VW Sharan. It's my all time favourite car so far! I've got 4 kids... 9, 5, 3 and 1. There's not a huge amount of room left in the boot due to the 2 seats but I can fit my Bugaboo Bee pushchair and a large overnight bag full of 'stuff'.
It's not wide, it seems the same width as other cars but it is long.. The parking sensors are brilliant.
We have taken the middle seat in the 2nd row out as we don't need it and it creates loads more room.

Thanks everyone. I am going round the Arnold clarks tomorrow to check some out. Will take the pram with me, probably have to take the baby as well!

I used to have a Toyota Landcruiser with an extra row of seats so it sat 7. Loved that car, but it was BIG. I now drive a Toyota 4Runner with an extra row of seats (optional add on) which seats 7. I'm in the USA, so not sure if the same format exists in the UK, but if it does, it's a fabulous car.

We've got a qashqai + 2 which is the 7 sweater version and I love it!

It's hard as lots of great 7 sweaters don't exist anymore. We have a peugeot 807 and absolutely love it. Very roomy in the boot and sliding doors. They stopped making them a few years ago but can pick up one easily second hand. Same as the Citroen & fiat 7 seater just different badges.

We have a Ford SMax, which I am still really happy with. In truth, the back two seats don't have loads of leg room, but if it's only a limited period of time that you'd be using them for, then they'll be fine. If I was transporting five children all year round, I would probably want a Galaxy.

We have an old galaxy which is great for people and luggage. We usually have it so 2 seats in each row (so centre seat middle row removed ). But the very rest seats are not very spacious or comfortable for anybody over about 9 so beware of that. We have 3 teens plus mates and they kind of fold themselves into the seats it swim. I hate sitting in middle row and I am 5 foot 1!

Used to have Peugeot 807 (work car) and it was sooooooo much better but tax was too high. Would love to get one like it second hand with Peugeot or Citroen or seat(?) version

We had an Alhambra and 100% recommend. We only upsized to a 9 seater as had a second set of twins and seating was awkward with a huge buggy and all chairs used. Been discussing downsizing back to one soon but will try and get a sliding door one :-)

We have a Hyundai Trajet. I have 5dc and found a lot of 7 seaters didn't have 7 full size seats or any boot. Our boot isn't Hugh, but is bigger than most people carrier.

Got a qashqai +2 but I think they have stopped making them new. Have 2 children and a big dog so use the back 2 seats for the hound (but they are fine for children up to a certain age)
