Campaign Administration Officer

1 day a week (preferably Tuesday) – initial 6 month contract

£18,000 - £19,000 pro rata, including London weighting

Position to start week commencing August 18, 2014

Republic is a non-profit campaign aimed at achieving the abolition of the monarchy. We have enjoyed huge growth in profile and supporters over the past three years and have ambitious plans for future success.

We are a membership-based organisation with members and supporters right around the UK. We support a growing network of local campaigns and volunteer teams, hold events around the country and have an active media profile. This position offers you a unique opportunity to play an important role in this exciting and forward-looking campaign.

We are looking for an experienced and skilled campaign administrator who will be motivated and able to manage their own work. The position is home-based, one-day-a-week but will also have opportunities for additional hours and may in the future be based in a London office.

You will have excellent organisational and administrative skills as well as experience in dealing with queries from the public, whether by email or phone. You will be dealing with emails from supporters, volunteers, local campaigners and detractors so an ability to write intelligently and effectively is important. You will also have excellent office IT skills, including using databases, managing data, using Microsoft Office and processing membership and sales transactions. Experience in the campaigning sector is desirable but not essential.

The principal responsibilities of the role include:

Processing renewals, new memberships and donations
Processing renewal reminders
Receiving and dealing with email and postal communications, replying to enquiries in a timely and professional manner
Returning phone calls and handling phone enquiries
Assisting the CEO with the processing and payment of invoices
Supporting the CEO in the development of administration processes and policies
Supporting campaign activity through the management of related administration, such as ticket sales and generating reports
Reporting to the CEO this position will give you plenty of opportunity to get involved in other aspects of the campaign and to gain a detailed insight into the world of campaigning.

A quick correction to the ad - the interviews are the week commencing July 28.

As per the ad the salary is pro rata for one day a week.
