My kids have an account each which we've paid bits of birthday money etc into since they were born. There's not a lot in them, but I like them to take the book and the money and hand it over and see the number in the book get bigger.
It's currently with the coop who are now shutting out local branch. Any suggestions of a good high street account I transfer to?

Halifax - they get an ATM card and pin number (not debit or credit) which they can use to pay in at the machines or counter and also check balances or withdraw at the ATM. Used to pay 3% but worth checking current rates.
