Is anyone familiar with binary options? I was trying to google stuff about investments and picking shares, and I found various binary option sites. However, it looks almost like gambling to me. Is there actually any investment made when buying a binary option, or is it basically a bet?

Gambling? Are you insinuating that bankers gamble with OUR money? Why how dare you.... Next you'll be claiming that they expect taxpayers to bail them out when they screw up, too.

It was a genuine question. I signed up on a couple of sites for free information, and I get people telephoning me trying to persuade me to put money in.

So, does anyone "trade" binary options? And if so, have you made money on it?

it is a gamble - yes.

You either make money or lose it all.

So unless you have money you're prepared to lose, I wouldn't bother.

No, I don't want to loose my money. I wanted to invest it in shares. I find it funny that so many binary options websites came up when I was googling how to invest in shares.

I hadn't heard of binary options before.

Well, I am at a stage where I feel convinced enough about my trading strategies, so I can advice others to follow them too. First and foremost is, don’t try to start without learning as some of the fools suggest you such things on their article. Your trading approach should be well organized and disciplined. As you are a beginner, make sure to explore good resources like www.judgebinaryoptions.com/What-Are-Binary-Options which explain the whole process in detail. Always deal with a good broker and opt high quality signal services.

Don't touch them with a barge pole.

You will lose money.

If you make money, they will make it very difficult to withdraw.

The companies you deal with are not brokers - their income comes only from your losses. There is not much incentive to make their prices fair.

I think it is unlicensed/unregulated and is essentially gambling between up or down. Unless you can afford to lose money don't do it!

Binary options is just the latest con that is being punted round to rob the little man, thats me and you, of whatever savings they might have. If you have money you want to invest then go buy into a decent investment trust.

Options are basically a bet on the price move of an underlying asset.

You are not investing in a share that you can sell.

If you don't understand it, avoid it at all costs.

First of all read binary options guide and learn how to trade successfully. Every broker platform is going to supply trading windows within which binary options trades are going to be performed. Though the most recent designs are pretty straightforward, beginner traders might encounter just a bit of uncertainty when experiencing these trade windows for the very first time.
