Hi there, my Husband and i have been trying to conceive for 16 month now with no avail. I had an excellent doctor earlier in the year who advised i have day 21 test done and sent me to see a gynecologist to find out if i had any problems going on. Both my day 21 tests didn't come back great but there were no serious problems with my scans , biopsies or any blood tests i had done. I've been under a lot of pressure at work and my mother has been ill so I've gave myself a few months off the doctors appointments and being prodded and poked. Anyhow i call the doctors to get the ball rolling again 2 weeks ago to find out my doctor who i felt really understood what i was going through has actually left the practice. I spoke to a new female doctor who wants my to take the day 21 test again and if the results come back bad again, she advised i get referred for IVF as soon as possible. I'm 33 and have a child from a previous relationship so we would not qualify for treatment on the NHS. I just can't believe that this is the only option, i asked about hormone treatment and this basically got dismissed. Has anyone got any advice on what i should be asking for when i go to my next appointment? I felt a bit of a write off after our last conversation and i'm finding it very difficult.

Sorry to hear you are going through this. You need to ask to be referred onto a fertility specialist.... There isn't much your GP can do after the initial tests. Was it the progesterone which was a concern on blood test?

Yes my first test came back as 7 and the following one as 14, so although it's gone up its not enough to say I've ovulate fully. I just feel at a bit of a loss
