Can anyone recommend a good private clinic in London for fertility tests please?

I've had 2 mcs - which is one too less to have any testing on the NHS. However, I don't want to wait and see if it happens again before addressing the problem. I had irregular periods up until my mid 20s and other issues that where never really addressed. I'm in my mid 30s now and time is ticking.

Plus, my current GP is awful - she's more concerned with whether or not I'm married*/have pre-marital sex than my mcs.

Just giving you some background before anyone says I don't need to go etc.

Anyway… Has anyone been anywhere in London they'd really recommend for fertility issues?

*FWIW I am married. But seriously… F her.

Hi size. I didn't have tests done here as I have no tubes so no need for tests but I can't recommend Guys & St Thomas's ACU enough. I have been under Mr El-Toukhy who has been superb (can compare him to my previous consultant)

Good luck with whoever you choose to go with, the waiting is the worst, we were always private as my DH has 2 DD from a previous relationship, and I count myself very lucky that we could xx

I found the Lister expensive & alienating (the consultant we saw there actually laughed when she saw my DH's sperm analysis results and said 'well there's your problem!' before trying to hustle us into paying for ICSI then and there).

I ended up going to City Fertility for their Fertility MOT which was cheaper, more transparent pricing-wise, and much less of a hard sell than the Lister. The people there are very nice. It's also connected to a Czech clinic and if you need any treatment you can get it done in Prague for about £10k less than you'd pay in London clinics.

Good luck! Your GP sounds like an arse.

I am NHS at ULCH but they use CRGH as part of their IVF programme and I have found all my dealings with them very good. I don't know if they specialise in recurrent miscarriage specifically but I do know people who have used CRGH and had a good outcome.

We're at the London Womens Clinic, we went there because we're a same sex couple and they're affiliated with the London Sperm bank, which we needed. They have been great, we had our daughter through them 3 years ago and now we're trying for a sibling and encountering problems, they have been very attentive. I've had a MC too and they are not only focussed on getting me pregnant again but also focusing on trying to avoid another MC.

Have possibly booked an appointment with one of the clinics for Monday (just waiting for confirmation).

It's actually next to my office which will be very useful for further appointments AND they were 1/3 of the price of a place I had previously looked at. So, thank you all again for your kind help.

Hi sizeofalental
I'm also interested in testing after 2 MC with a view to IVF. I read this thread with interest. Which clinic did you opt for? I'm not so flush and a 1/3 of price sounds very attractive ..
Thank you, Claire

Doesn't underestimate ease of location.

Fertility treatment involves loads of appointments. So the easiest one to get to is probably the best.

(I used the Lister and was pleased with the treatment)

Guys and St Thomas are amazing - we're under Mr Khalaf who is brilliant (and I'm pg!).

Wow congrats Hedgehog. I'm starting to think Czech clinic might be the way to go if we go down the IVF route - cost being the determining factor.
