I've had IUI, IVF and FET. It can be physically and emotionally demanding - I tried to maintain a sense of humour along with my husband, it really helped. Also you will feel emotional so give yourself a break and be kind to yourself. Take each day at a time and each step at a time. I didn't want people knowing but if you do talk to others about how you feel.

Not sure if it helps but we have a beautiful 8yr old and 3 yr old so it can work - try to remain positive (excuse the pun)!

Very best of luck Flowers

I've just finished a cycle and am now in my 2ww. I found it tiring, but other than that OK. Doing the jabs for the first couple of days can be difficult, but I found once the jabs started time just flew! Wishing you the best of luck.Flowers

I am getting prostap injection today to downregulate. This is my first IVF and I'm absolutely terrified. I'm 38, unexplained fertility and ttc for 1.5 years. Had a previous missed miscarriage in another relationship.

Hi Duffy. It can b such an emotional time..i felt the same when i picked up my jabs. Terrified worrying what will happen and how will i cope if it doesnt work. Once i got started i seemed to have calmed down abit..I hope once you get started it will help you too

Prostap injection was fine- relatively painless. Waiting on the side effects now to kick in!

Catswhiskers - how you getting on with the stimming? Do you have the pre filled pen? Looks a faff will get them to run through it again tomoz.
Duffy - I have been on suprecur so not sure about prostap either. I gave found injections painless and feel normal if a bit tired in the evenings. I have been down regging for two and a half weeks now and this last week been coming over hot and sweaty although it has been hot! I think the fact you got pregnant before is a positive sign so hopefully your system just needs a liitle push. Take it easy and be kind to yourself.

Drinking more fluid helps with the headaches. Honestly. I was drinking 2 litres upped it to 2.5 and no more headaches.

I've found DR so far ok. A bit of a dull headache and really bad skin (not spots, but lumps under skin). Generally I feel fine though. Good luck to all stimming- I'm petrified of doing my first injection. I too have to mix it myself x

Sara - im glad to hear your scan went well Smile Have you started stims now?

Duffy- i'm the same with the lumps and headaches. Lots of water helps but i did have to have paracetamol the one day. It was so bad in work and looking at a pc screen for 8 hours Confused
Are you doing your first jab today? It is a bit strange doing it yourself and i still hesitate a bit now and try a new spot if its abit sore. Good luck x

I'm feeling pretty good though and have a scan monday to see how stims are going. Hope everything is as it should be x

Hi Sara..Glad the water is helping.
I have a fan on my desk. Best thing ever!
How are the jabs going? Is it ok injecting yourself?

Report
Sara237 · 15/08/2016 11:21

Hi whiskers,
I have found the injections completely painless literally I cannot feel the needle. I read all these comments before about the agony of injecting I was dreading it. Then again I do have a good few inches on my stomach so needle is def going into flab. Maybe if I had a wash board it'd hurt more! Knew those chic chip cookies would help me one day...😊
