Infertility

Adenomyosis & Severe Endo - is there any point in trying?

I have stage 4 endometriosis, and have recently had my 2nd Laparoscopy to remove as much as possible. I was told that I also now have one blocked tube and possible Adenomyosis.

I've known about the Endo for a few years, so I had come to terms with that. From what I understand, it is probably the cause of my infertility, but once (if) I conceive, it won't cause me any problems.

However, the Adenomyosis is a new one on me. I think it causes increased risk of MC? So now not only do I have a struggle to get pregnant, but I will be terrified of losing it if I ever get that far.

I am waiting for an IVF referral, but in the meantime I'm wondering whether it is worth all the heartache if the odds are so stacked against me.

Does anyone have any experience of ttc / pregnancy with Adenomyosis?

I saw that no one had responded and I didn't want your post to go unacknowleged. I'm not sure how helpful my experience will be but I have both endo and adenomyosis but only diagnosed after several ectopic pregnancies and investigations.

I had endo lasered and adhesions unstuck. Long story short I now have no tubes but IVF worked on round 2 (FET) and now waiting for 3rd go at FET to try for number 2.

I hope that isn't too depressing for you. It was a long road but worth it.

X

Thank you Tepid it sounds like you've really been through it, but it was worth the effort in the end.

It's a horrible disease, with so many possible complications (ectopic is a particularly cruel one). So glad for you that your IVF worked, and good luck with your FET!

I have stage 4 endo and adeno. Have had 3 laps, zoladex, the works. Got pregnant first time with ICSI (male factor issues too). I realise we were very fortunate but it can work.
