Hi. we have been ttc for 18months with no sign of bfp. We were referred to the fertility clinic and i was due to have a hycosy this week but found out i was pregnant last wednesday so i cancelled. I usually spot every month from 7dpo, this happened again this month so didnt suspect i was pregnant. I was 5+3 on monday when the bleeding got heavier, since monday iv had more clots and

Believe i am miscarrying. I think the spotting i get every month has something to do with it. I have had progesterone tested at 7dpo and it was 55 which they were happy with. I was taking my temperature every month and my temperature stayed high until af even though i have spotting. Does anyone know what might be causing this? Its driving me mad.

Lynney first of all I'm so sorry for your Mc Flowers I'm hoping for you it isn't...

Second - I'll be absolutely no help at all as I have no idea but wanted to say I've been spotting since 7/8dpo too!!! My progesterone results were normal (according to the consultant - didn't find out the figure) but can't think what else it could be! So watching this with interest in case anyone knows... I'm due to start IUI next month (seeing fertility nurse on 1st) so going to ask about it / see if she will give me progesterone...

Hi maplebaby. Its horrible is it, especially when you dont get answers. I just feel like this spotting has been the reason i havent conceived and could well be why im miscarrying. I feel like ts shredding before it gets a chance. Good luck for next month! X

I too had this and looked into it at length. My Drs were completely uninterested. The two things I found were - it could be a B vitamin deficiency, a lot of people had an improvement taking B100 tabs (I'm not a dr so no idea if any risks with this). The second thing is endometriosis, I read a paper that said that vast majority of women who spot for more than 2 days will have endometriosis. I saw a bit of an improvement with the vitamins and after a lap and removal of an endometrioma I no longer spot at all. I'm sure there can be other reasons for spotting though, and it seems plenty of women are able to conceive with it. Congrats on your pregnancy and I hope you aren't miscarrying Flowers

That's interesting zippy how do they find endometriosis?? I've had various ultrasounds and a Hycosy but consultant didn't say anything about it - I wonder if I should have pressed more about the spotting! Will ask the fertility nurse in a couple of weeks!

Endometriosis is hard to diagnose without a laparoscopy (and not everyone has symptoms). Ultrasound would pick up any cysts/ endometriomas so you must be clear there Smile. I'm not saying you should push for a lap at this stage by any means, you have been able to conceive and if this is a miscarriage it may just be bad luck. In your shoes I'd probably keep trying for a while (and maybe try the B vits).
I was driven mad by the spotting, it's very frustrating when ttc!

Zippy I'm not OP (but appeared to have hijacked, sorry OP!!) but I've never had a sniff of a bfp Sad have IUI due to start next month so will question the nurse at my appointment to get my drugs / talk through! Thank you Smile

oops sorry maplebaby was on phone and didnt scroll back. I never had a sniff of a bfp either. In my experience health care professionals are never that bothered about spotting, worth a try though and definitely worth asking for progesterone supplementation as I don't think that can hurt! good luck with IUI

Hello, sorry to hear about the suspected mc. I have secondary infertility, have been ttc for 4 yrs now on 2nd clomid cycle. History of short cycles 21-24 days when regular but often nothing for months, usually spot a few days before af. On 1st clomid cycle spotted from 7dpo (kidded myself it was implantation ☹️) anyway this cycle fertility nurse has given me progesterone pessaries/suppositories and no spotting, af is due sun (so currently fighting the urge to test tho will probably cave 2m as have party in the eve & would really like to drink if negative 😕). Anyway sorry for rambling but reckon it'd be worth asking for progesterone -x-
