Infertility

waiting times for lap and dye

Can anyone help me understand if the 18 week referral to treatment applies if I've been referred by my fertility consultant for a lap and dye?

Or is it only applicable from gp referral to seeing the consultant?

Feeling fairly fed up as was offered lap and dye as a last ditch attempt to see if there is any reason for infertility or to go straight to ivf. As my consultant said the wait would be 3-4 months max for the lap I thought it was worth it. I called today as its been 3 months and was told most likely August but it could be longer.

So I'm at a loss as to what to do really. Sad

I had 2 laps before IVF and it was I think 9 months from GP referral to first IVF cycle, the average is 3-6 months after first fertility clinic appt to actually cycle so with surgery and recovery I would look at 6-9

Unfortunately that's how the NHS are with IVF, so many of us needing help the waits can be long. I know it drags but once you get going it goes quick I promised
