Low Progesterone but now reffering me for a Laparoscopy

Hi, I'm 34 and have been trying for 4 year, I had a miscarriage last September and another 12 yrs ago. GP sent me for blood tests, results said board line so referred me to Miss Hannah clinic. They sent me for more bloods and on day 21 result was 21.9 and day 28 result was 20.6 of a 32 day cycle. They said that as my cycles vary between 28-32 days would need to be high 7 days before my period and wasn't worried but doesn't it need to be into 30's for me to conceive and keep the baby? the day 28 blood test was only 1 day short of 7 days before my period and was only 20.6 so is that still cause for concern?
Instead of focusing on that I'm now being sent for a operation called Laparoscopy but have seen on here people being prescribed stuff for boosting the progesterone, should that be what I need?
Please help i'm very confused by it all, my doctor referred me as my progesterone was low but that doesn't seem to be what the hospital are dealing with, thank you Shannon x

Shannon, my pg level was 1 and I got a bfp and miscarried so I'm sat here wondering the same thing!

Please can others inform how you get progesterone because I keep getting fobbed off!

Low progesterone indicates that you aren't ovulating and a Laparoscopy will help to diagnose the cause. It is possible that you may have Polycyclic Ovaries and they may therefore offer you Ovarian Drilling to attempt to rectify the issue. This is done during a Laparoscopic procedure (with prior consent of course! Cyclogest can be prescribed to boost Progesterone levels to support a potential pregnancy but back in my day (TTC with PCOS 10 years ago), I wasn't offered anything to boost levels to aid conception. My levels were in single figures, and I had IUI with ovulation induction via Menopur injections in the end.

The hospital seem to think I am ovulating and one of the home ovulation test give me a smiley face if that means anything, I've had an internal scan which confirmed I didn't have POS and that my Ovaries looked fine. That's why I am confused but will wait and see what the surgeon says I guess x

My scan also showed that I didn't have PCOS and I've since learnt that they are not particularly accurate at diagnosing. I had 2 laparoscopies, and was eventually told by my Fertiliity Specialist that I had a severe case of PCOS, so gawd knows what the sonographer was looking at. A Laparoscopy will help to rule in or out any other conditions and will help you to come up with a plan on what to do next. Good luck!
