IVF over 40 & early menopause

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie looking for a little advice/hope please. I have just completed my first and unsuccessful cycle of IVF and feeling a little disheartened. I've basically been told by my consultant that my best option is to use donor eggs as I'm in early menopause (I'm 40). My AMH was 1.1 and I produced 4 eggs, one was mature enough to go to fertilisation stage but failed.. I had a short protocol of drugs treatment including suprecour, gonal f, cetricide, and a couple of others I can't remember names of at the moment... I've been told I've had the max dosage and very aggressive? I'm not too great with all the jargon! I feel he was pushing me into donor eggs a little and only gave me 5% chance of success using my own. I've had a massive fibroid removed in April and a cyst was drained during egg retrieval this cycle. I feel like I maybe wasn't at my optimum health wise and wondered if anyone else has had a similar experience that can offer hope, I really want to try again with my own as I'm also single and using donor sperm but he's advising against... I didn't do a lot of research prior as all happened very quickly as I only went into have eggs count done with view to freezing but was informed time was of the essence and freezing wasn't an option due to EM and AMH levels... any guidance or direction of where best to get more info would be greatly appreciated.. TIA x
