Clomid if you already ovulate naturally?

I have one son from IVF, first and only round. I have polycystic ovaries but not the syndrome.
We're trying naturally for a few months for #2 after FET which ended in early miscarriage late last year.
As a precaution, I went to see the GP last month to arrange a day 21 progesterone test. As it turns out now my period has arrived yesterday, the test was done on 22 of a 31 day cycle. The result was 58 which seems good?

I need to see GP again to discuss the result but when arranging the test she said depending on the result she could prescribe Clomid. I'd forgotten about Clomid though have taken it before, for 4 months prior to my IVF cycle. At that time it was the fertility specialist at the local hospital who prescribed it even though I was ovulating naturally most months. I took only 50mg. His reasoning was that it would boost ovulation and improve egg quality. I was monitored only with day 21 bloods and would be the same if GP prescribes it again now.

Assuming GP will prescribe it with the result being 58, is it worth taking it while we try on our own before doing another FET in a couple of months time.
