Hi ladies im looking some honest advice please
I have had 4 boys in a previous relationship it ended after my last child was born 13years ago
I was sterilised at his birth which i have always regretted
Meeting my now partner has raised the having another child issue as he has no children and would like some ive been told by my gp my age and 4 c sections the reversal wouldnt be an option infact he refused to even send my hospital a letter to ask as he has had previous paitents turned down
Has anyone else any experience of this and would ivf be an option im lost as to what to do or say next

I was sterilised 2.5 years ago. Like you, I have had 4 c-sections (but 4dds). I do believe that IVF is the only option. I was also told they couldn't really reverse it. I'm was 40 and didn't want any more children, but I knew we could have IVF if we did want more.

Yes, IVF would be your only option without a reversal - you would have to pay for IVF privately though as you already have children.

Reversals of sterilisation aren't generally available on NHS, and cost around £5k privately (for about a 60% chance of success).

I can't think if a reason why you'd be unsuitable for IVF, but again you'd need to expect to be self-funding.

My tubes were blocked so the same thing I suppose, I don't think it should affect your chances. It's your egg quality that matters.

I was successful on my 3rd attempt.

Don't know about clinics in Belfast but if you google fertility friends there are loads of very knowledgeable people on there.
