Very bad SA Results. Any ideas?

DH has very low results in all areas of SA (low volume, low count, low motility, high viscosity and 0% morphology at last test).

We were about to start ICSI nearly 3 years ago but we somehow manged to conceive DS naturally just before we were about to start. Several HCPs have told us since that this was pretty miraculous given DH's SA.

I got an unexpected BFP 2 months ago and we were both so excited, but I had a MC at 5 weeks Sad.

We're back to see the reproductive medicine unit at our local hospital on Monday. Part of me thinks we should explore any non-IVF options first as we have been lucky enough to conceive naturally twice. The other half thinks we should just crack on with ICSI as the actual odds are very slim.

Has anyone had success with drugs or anything else for MFI? Does anyone have any ICSI with MFI success stories?

My husband has male factor issues. The first SA came back as bad in all areas; volume, count, motility and morphology all bad. Not sure about viscosity though.

Anyway, much to his disgust, I gave him a concoction of supplements daily (well, most days) and everything did improve to within normal limits except the morphology which is still 100% abnormal. A friend of mine had exactly the same experience.

However, unlike you, I have been trying to conceive for 3 years and not a hint of a BFP. I think it's best to move quickly to IVF but that might just be my opinion based on my age of 37 and the fact that time is fast running out. Being 37, I don't make a lot of eggs so we have to do repeated IVF to get the same amount of eggs that others get in one or two IVF's.

Not sure how old you are but you may find that after other methods don't work and if you do move on to IVF, it may take more than one go and if you are not young, you may not respond well and will regret not doing it sooner.

That's just how I feel. Good luck with whatever you decide.
