Antral follicle count scan?

Is there a specific/best cycle day when the antral follicle count should be done? I'm low AMH/high FSH and the consultant (private) recommended "a scan specifically to check the antral follicle count and to make sure that there are no polyps within the uterus".

I've read online that the count should be day 3 but the letter doesn't say that. I've made an appt locally for the scan but looking back, the scan clinic were I think talking about ovulation tracking scans and I'm booked in on day 8 - will that be too late?

Any advice gratefully received x

Hmm I've had two of these scans one on day 3 and one day 11. I think as long as it's before you ovulate they can see you're afc? In fact the one I had on day 11 basically I was told I would ovulate in the next day or so and therefore to go for it dtd. We didn't conceive then but the month later as that gave me a very good idea of my short lutuel phase ( as well as high fsh etc) started b6 lengthened cycle conceived. After 3 years of trying and 2 mc. In fairness it hasn't worked like that for a 2nd dc but I am so blessed to have my ds after being told no hope

I don't think it matters what day it is on. Might be wrong but I've had mine done 3 times (as part of pre ivf baseline scans) and the day of cycle has never been mentioned.
