Hi Kali, I've just seen your post. Congratulations on getting your referral! I'm having treatment at St Marys as well with my DH for unexplained infertility. I've already had one IVF last year and I'm hoping to start my next one in April.

This section of mn can be fairly quiet so I don't think you will get many replies. You might be better posting in conception. There are a few threads you could join, there is one called the berries for people trying for their first. Or you may want to check out fertility friends forum to see if you can find other people in similar situations. There are regional groups as well on fertility friends and there is one for people at St Marys.

Good luck x

I forgot to add I think you will have to have counselling at St Marys as I assume you will be using a donor? Everyone has to see the counsellors if they are using a donor. The counsellors run a support group for people having treatment, I have attended it in the past and it's a great way to meet other people. It might be worth you asking about it at your appointment.

Great news. Google infertility support network in Manchester and there is a group that meets up. Also an online forum that can be good to ask detailed questions and vent. Ask your consultant for their protocol so y can do some reading around the subject.
I would highly recommend finding an acupuncturist now. The way acupuncture works is that it helps the body prepare preIVF. It also really helps reduce some of the stress that comes with the whole process.

Good luck :)

I've heard acupuncture is good for a lot of things.. i was looking for someone for my dog he hurt his back pretty bad but i only found the one and she never got back to me but i'm going to ask at manchester school of massage i think they do lots from aromatherapy and acupuncture so well worth a nosey about.. i'm not sure if aromatherapy is aloud but i'm sure they can fill me in :)
