Clomid at Christmas, how depressing. Need some advice, please.

Hello, I'm 38, been ttc 2+ years. 2 mcs during that time, 1 mmc at 12 wk scan and 1 early mc that took forever to resolve. In between the two I stopped ovulating naturally so was put on on clomid. 3rd cycle got pregnant, then had the early mc, took 4 mths to finally resolve itself.

So my GP has put me back on clomid now BUT I'm having trouble knowing when to take it. Since the most recent mc, I haven't had a monthly "flow", just variable spotting for 5-6 days. I previously experienced roughly a week of spotting prior to a week of flow and in past clomid cycles have taken it too early. Now I think I've taken it too late? I took it on day 5 of spotting and the spotting stopped completely on day 7.

So do I write off this cycle? Talk to GP? Take it earlier next month? And why is everyone pregnant or with babies??? This is so shit.

I never had clomid as I didn't have a problem ovulating, just implantation so I'm sorry, no words if advice but just empathy for your stress.
Try not to worry, I know that sounds empty but I really believe worrying makes it worse. My twins are ivf after 7yrs ttc and 3 goes. DS was a complete surprise.
Am sure someone else will be able to give you a guide as far as timings go. Hugs

Thank you for your response and empathy. I was a bit emotional when I posted so thanks for acknowledging it, and congrats on your successes :)

Am sure you'll get there soon. Good luck with the cycle.

It's usually taken day 2 of bleeding.

I was in the same position of not having a proper bleed to start clomid on. I was given Provera to induce a proper bleed before starting.

Hope it works for you. This TTC business is utter shit.

Thanks Sarah, hadn't heard of provera - I'll ask my GP about that. Sounds like it could be the solution.

Hope it all works for you soon too. Come on 2014!!!
