Support thread for those TTC after Vasectomy Reversal

I first joined MN searching for advice on VR, and there was a great thread with lots of positive stories from people going through the VR experience. The thread became dormant, and since then I haven't seen much talk of VR on here. So I thought I'd try and start a new thread.

My story - DP had a Vasectomy Reversal this March, 10yrs post vasectomy. The procedure went well, as did his recovery. We have been slow to book our sperm analysis (I had this fantasy that I'd fall pregnant and wouldn't need to test), but have finally got round to it, it's happening during the first week of January I'm crapping myself about it

Since April, we have been TTC, with no luck so far.

I would love to hear from others going through the same experience. Anyone out there?

Hi. We are also TTC after a VR in July. I have 3 kids from my previous marriage and always got preg quickly. DP has 2 kids from his previous marriage and had his vasectomy over 10 yrs ago. Reversal went well and I have since had 2 chemical pregs and am waiting to see if pg this month - AF due Xmas day. DP hadn't had sperm count check either as like you I hoped to get preg immediately. If it doesn't happen soon I think we will have to go to the docs and get checked as its all getting quite stressful. Fingers crossed you get some good news soon? Let me know how you get on

Hello Frazzle I was beginning to think I was the only one out there!

Sorry to hear about your chemical pregs - but at least that shows that his op was successful eh? Fingers crossed for you for christmas!!

Neither my DP or I have any DCs (he had his vasectomy when he was 25, no kids, before he was even married... he's a headstrong old bugger, but WTF was the Dr thinking??)

So we have no idea whether it has worked or not yet, but I'll find out soon. I'm also suffering from what I think are the early stages of endometriosis - waiting tests to figure that out. So it may not be easy for either of us...

Not to be defeated though, we're TTC and there's still hope. AF due right around the same date as we'll expect the SA results, so one way or another January will bring some answers!

Anyone else out there??
