Hi All to those who are going through the same agony of trying to conceive but without any luck. I have a six year old boy which I conceived 2 months after coming off the pill. I have now been trying for 5 years and now coming to the end of the road. I started on 50mg clomid and conceived but miscarried, then had a break as struggled with the miscarriage. When I felt ready, when back to consultant and he decided to do an ovarian drilling as they are polycystic, even though I am slim and non hairy!! Fell pregnant naturally 2 weeks after the op, but again miscarried 7 weeks later. Went back to consultant and back on clomid, now 100mg and been on them for 7 months. Have done follicule tracking and it shows I am showing good sized follicules and they told us the best days to have intercourse. I felt so positive about this one, even thought I was showing signs of pregnancy. But I have had these thoughts for years now and always been disappointed everytime. Kept telling myself its all in my head as before, but couldn't resist in doing a pregnancy test even though I was a few days off my period. Again, seeing the 'Not Pregnant' mark, my heart sinks and i'm in tears. I was told by the consultant that if this doesn't work then my options are only IVF, which we will need to pay for. I feel so disheartend and have nobody to talk to as they don't know what if feels like. Spoken to the consultant and they want to do another tracking but I am convinced it will not happen again for us. Sad

Hi Evie,
So sorry to hear what you're going through and I completely sympathise. We've been trying for a baby since September 2011 and I was diagnosed with pcos in December 2012. Since then, I've done 5 rounds of clomid and only ovulated twice. Have been on a clomid break for this month and am now nearly a a week Kate for af, but getting BFNs. Anyway, just wanted to say is what you're feeling is understandable - but it's really important to stay as positive as possible. I'm sorry about your miscarriages, but the good news is that you've managed to get pregnant twice - so it can happen! Have you thought about acupuncture? I've just made an appointment to start seeing one as I'd like my next and last two rounds of clomid (at 150mg this time!) to have the best chance. I'm sure stress and fretting plays a huge role in all of this. It might be worth asking your consultant about several other things (which is what I plan to ask at my next appointment in a few weeks): would it be worth trying metformin instead of clomid? Are injectibles an option? Is iui and option? And does your local health authority offer free acupuncture sessions or counselling? - turns out mine in North London does, so plan on taking them up on the offer asap!
Best of luck with it all and know that you're not alone. There are loads of couples going through fertility issues - people just don't talk about it.
Feather x

Blackberry can I please ask how long you used Duofertility for? I'm now on my 7th month of using it and still no bfp...starting to lose hope.

I hadn't heard of duofertility before, i'm guessing it doesn't work if you are not ovulating though?

Hi all,
I have a 12 year old daughter and have been ttc since she was 4, I've had 5 MC and after investigations in 2009 found I had high NK cells and this was cause, I was given a course of steroids and aspirin to take from ovulation until 3 months pregnant, after 2 years of BFN's I went back Dr Shehata in Epsom Hospital and was advised dye test in my tubes and another laparoscopy, I was told I had a blocked tube but at the time of operation it had apparently repaired itself, so I was diagnosed with unexplained infertility plus PCOS.

I am now, after a couple of years rest for my mental state, as you can imagine I felt deflated and worn and depressed - We are now looking at starting our IVF journey but will also need steroid plan still if the baby sticks so I don't MC...

Just wanted to share my story, we aren't alone

Yes Blackberry all tests clear for me and dh. Thought we'd give Duofertility a try before thinking about ivf. Had have 2 bfps prior to starting the Duo, but both ended in mcs, but thankfully we already have our ds. Thanks for the feedback x
