2nd failed IUI :(

I really wish I could post good news but it's not to be. Had sore boobs & spots & grumbling pains plus all other subtle indicators that af was on its way so took first response preg test today - it was 3 days early but unfortunately 98% accurate. My DH is trying to hide it but he is so disappointed he went in the shed to 'fix bike' for ages. Feel like the past 5yrs of neg test results is chipping away at his 'not yr fault, we'll try again' routine!!! Will start 3rd IUI when I get period but atm very demoviated :( My best friend is preggers & due nxt month and as mean as this sounds finding it hard to be around her. Does anyone ever feel that all their friends & work colleagues skip off & get pregnant naturally making you feel a bit defective?? Soz guess bit of a rant but feel so upset & angry at the same time!!!! I had 3 mature eggs so did respond better this time but I have one blocked tube and was advised low success rate of 5-10% but still you can't help but hope each time. IVF is an option but with only one free go on NHS wanted to give IUI a go.....Feel like a glass of wine might treat myself lol

Not to give you false hope but testing 3days early is actually 87% not 98% www.firstresponsefertility.com/we-tell-you-first

Sounds like moving straight to IVF maybe better odds of success. Wishing you all the best.

Really? I didn't know that. Fairly sure I'm not but hey there are two tests in the pack so will test again on Monday if AF hasn't turned up. I am going to ask my consultant about going straight to IVF as we have 50% chance with it & maybe it is time to bite the bullet. Feels like the last resort and with just the one go been nervous about doing it :(

Sorry to hear that, presently just in tww of first iui, although we only 8 million sperm so that's reduced out chances of it working. I have had a lot of friends pregnant recently and what your feeling is totally normal, I've found honesty to be the best policy, if I'm having a down day is tell me best friend and she totally understood. Good luck in the rest of your treatment, I have everything crossed for you! :)

Hi Happilymarried, thx for yr message & best of luck with you tww, hope it's not been too stressful for you.Tbh I've been avoiding my best friend over this wkend as she knows me far too well for me to hide my feelings bout IUI not being successful & I don't want to cause her to find it difficult to talk to me because our circumstances are so different atm :(
