how long??

I'm just wondering how long some people on here have been trying for a baby
... we have been trying for 3 years and oneonth

We were trying for 2 years 6 months. The month i booked a drs appt to start fertility tests i was pregnant x

2 long years full of tears and currently playing the waiting game for a laparoscopy and dye test. :( today is a bad day... Should have stayed in bed!

I think the closer to 40 you are the sooner you need to see your GP.

We'd been trying for a while and I left going to GP I was 39 by this point! The NhS do lots of tests before they refer you to a fertility clinic if like in my case they couldn't find a problem.
For us after more tests with the fertility clinic it was advised I needed donor eggs...now this could take ages while they try to find a match if you decide you can get past the fact you need donor eggs.
Bare in mind that although a child is worth more than money but any NhS funding stops once your 40, there are discussions to up it to 42 but it is still being lobbied at government level.

So in a nutshell if your over 35 and been trying for a while get to your GP so to can discuss the best way forward
