Its been reported that he fell out of the car in that incident he was in on the motorway at the weekend.

How do you fall out of a moving car?

It sounds bad.

Yup. It would sound as if he wasn't wearing a seat belt for a start.

He has been really accident/incident prone recently. I really hope that there is nothing more serious going on. sad

StealthOfficialCrispTester Tue 21-May-13 21:01:22

Was he hurt? Cant imagine how he wasnt from what you describe

LineRunner Tue 21-May-13 21:05:00

I am extraordinarily fond of George Michael for some of the best music of the 1980s, for his charity work, for being out and proud relatively early on to the benefit of many gay people, and for being able to take the piss out himself.

I hope he is OK.

But he does need to address his issues, when he could have caused a major bloody accident.

Mintyy Tue 21-May-13 21:07:31

Stealthy - it was initially reported that he was in a car crash but it seems what actually happened is that he was the passenger in a car doing 70 on the motorway and ... he "fell" out and caused a major incident (road closed etc, obviously) and very very luckily no one else hurt.

Haven't we all "been worried" about George Michael for many years? confused

Not great for him and genuinely hope he's ok and gets the help he needs.

I can't help but be reminded of when he crashed his car into a Snappy Snaps a few years ago and someone did this <inappropriate giggle>

cocolepew Tue 21-May-13 21:09:48

Careless whispers?

FuckThisShit Tue 21-May-13 21:09:55

Bloody hell I hadn't seen what had happened exactly, I thought it was a bump or tyre or something. Doesn't sound too good really.

5318008 Tue 21-May-13 21:10:54

Gosh, I heard he was in an accident and sustained a HI, that's all.

What a worry for his friends and family, and fans too

5318008 Tue 21-May-13 21:11:49

Arf at careless whispers <feel bad for sniggering tho'>

cocolepew Tue 21-May-13 21:12:22

I read his door wasn't shut right and he tried to open it to slam it.
Going at 70 down a motorway hmm

BitBewildered Tue 21-May-13 21:16:31

I hadn't realised it was so bad! sad

NotAQueef Tue 21-May-13 21:16:34

What kind of whispers tsc?

Hassled Tue 21-May-13 21:18:02

Another one with a massive fondness for George - I do hope he's OK.

Hassled Tue 21-May-13 21:19:22

Sorry, I adore GM and feel for him but grin at Bunny and Cocolepew

meglet Tue 21-May-13 21:22:57

He clearly has issues he needs to sort out before a tragedy happens. Such a pity as he comes across as a nice bloke in the media (for what that's worth).

StealthOfficialCrispTester Tue 21-May-13 21:22:57

I cant imaginehow its possinle to open a door at seventy. Not going to try it mind. And he must have been hugely lucky not tohave been hit straight away

NeoMaxiZoomDweebie Tue 21-May-13 21:29:44

Has he got a partner at the moment?

burberryqueen Tue 21-May-13 21:31:58

poor George, love him to bits, hope he is ok

lborolass Tue 21-May-13 21:34:08

I saw the story about falling out of the car and couldn't think of any normal situation in which this could happen.

I think the suggestion about opening the door to close it properly sounds like something one of his friends made up to try and stop people asking too many questions but it's obviously nonsense.

I can't believe someone could launch themselves from a moving car in a none inebriated/high state.

burberryqueen Tue 21-May-13 21:35:58

ooh i have consulted my dad the newshound, and he suggests that the story is rubbish, how could anyone 'fall out' just from slamming the door shut? Maybe he was pushed?

NeoMaxiZoomDweebie Tue 21-May-13 21:36:16

Ibor that's why I wondered if he has a partner...

Chubfuddler Tue 21-May-13 21:37:05

George Michael is my future ex husband so nothing better have happened to him. I love him.

StealthOfficialCrispTester Tue 21-May-13 21:37:16

Exactly lbor. Youd have to really force the door open. Which you wouldnt, you let it ooen sligbtly and slam shut naturally

StealthOfficialCrispTester Tue 21-May-13 21:38:02

Future ex?
Strange ambition

burberryqueen Tue 21-May-13 21:38:14

besides don't newer models have some system that would prevent u driving off with an open door?

Bvlgari Tue 21-May-13 21:38:17

I love George , really love him
Hope he's ok

Mintyy Tue 21-May-13 21:38:53

He does have a partner.

Poor man just does not seem to be able to straighten himself out (in the traditional sense) sad.

Pendipidy Tue 21-May-13 21:41:36

Don't worry about him op - you just gotta have faith (faith faith) !

<SNORT> at Pendipidy grin

Also wink at Franca

Numberlock Tue 21-May-13 21:44:57

Must be a sleb thing.

Didn't Brian Harvey manage to run himself over once?

LineRunner Tue 21-May-13 21:48:40

Yes, Brian Harvey ran over his own head.

But his head looked like that before the accident LineRunner confused

StealthOfficialCrispTester Tue 21-May-13 21:50:52

Because hed eaten too many potatoes
They should put that on the pack

YoniOneWayOfLife Tue 21-May-13 21:51:20

Brian Harvey was parallel parking with the door open, fell out and drove over himself. As you do hmm

MustTidyUpMustTidyUp Tue 21-May-13 22:00:32

Maybe the driver wanted to go left?

LineRunner Tue 21-May-13 22:04:18

Strap me in before you go go.

cocolepew Tue 21-May-13 22:04:20

If only he had went around a different corner sad

MustTidyUpMustTidyUp Tue 21-May-13 22:05:12

Perhaps he just wanted to go Outside?

burberryqueen Tue 21-May-13 22:06:49

perhaps he really wanted to come out?.....

Yes, Brian Harvey ran over his own head.

One of my favourite true stories ever.

BornInACrossFireHurricane Tue 21-May-13 22:14:52

I have just nearly woken the kids laughing at Brian Harvey running over his own head. Bloody hell.

I like GM- isn't he still with his long term partner? (can't remember his name)

Morgan Tue 21-May-13 22:20:10

I love GM - best Concert ever Abu Dhabi
but the story out today is a crock k of s**t surely - fell out of a moving car at 70 mph I don't think so . Poor George sadsad wonder what is going on with him ?

LineRunner Tue 21-May-13 22:24:52

To be fair, I once got out of moving car that my dad was driving. But that was at about 5mph.

cocolepew Tue 21-May-13 22:28:11

I fell out of my dads car too. In 1977, I was leaning on it and it flew open. Luckily he was turning into a driveway at the time.

Chubfuddler Tue 21-May-13 22:31:04

It's a bit soon for the outside/different corner jokes. I can appreciate they are pretty witty but .... Poor George.

I'll come out and say it - do people think this was a suicude attempt?

VivaLeBeaver Tue 21-May-13 22:31:43

Did he jump or was he pushed?

usualsuspect Tue 21-May-13 22:32:32

Was the catching too fast love?

usualsuspect Tue 21-May-13 22:33:02

Car

VivaLeBeaver Tue 21-May-13 22:33:25

I saw a copper fall out the passenger side of a police van years ago. They went round a bend and the door opened. He obviously wasn't wearing a belt and came flying out. Slightly harder to do on a straight motorway I'd have thought.

LineRunner Tue 21-May-13 22:34:45

Possibly, Chub. A jump, a cry for help, a horrible row - who knows - it all sounds pretty desperate stuff.

I don't know if GM knows how much ordinary people actually really like him.

usualsuspect Tue 21-May-13 22:35:27

I like GM, I hope he's ok.

Chubfuddler Tue 21-May-13 22:49:35

He's a troubled soul alright. I do wish he'd knock the dancey stuff on the head and do a decent ballad, but I am getting old.

Chubfuddler Tue 21-May-13 22:49:54

Where's oliviamn? She loves him too.

burberryqueen Tue 21-May-13 22:52:53

everyone loves him!! Indeed I wonder if he know what affection the general public have for him........

LynetteScavo Tue 21-May-13 22:56:01

I love George.

I really hope he's OK.

How can you fall out of a car on the motorway, and not cause a pile up in rush hour?

He doesn't live a boring life, that's for sure.

LazyMonkeyButler Tue 21-May-13 23:05:16

Another one here who loves George and really hopes he is OK sad.

I won't speculate about possible causes of the incident (mainly because I can't think of anything plausible that hasn't already been mentioned) but I sincerely hope that the people closest to GM are giving him all the help & love he needs to sort any issues out.

CogitoErgoSometimes Wed 22-May-13 08:51:50

I think it's what gets abbreviated on medical charts as 'PFO'....'Pissed and Fell Over'... or 'Pissed and Fell Out' in his case.

womma Wed 22-May-13 09:02:44

Oh dear. He seems such a lovely guy, I hope he's alright too.

If he'd still had his big 80's hair, it might have cushioned the blow a bit and minimised his head injury, poor old love. I want to take him some grapes and a bottle of lucozade.

burberryqueen Wed 22-May-13 21:20:20

I want to take him a big fat spliff and a kebab

LynetteScavo Wed 22-May-13 21:30:30

grin

But that was probably what got him into this mess!

Mintyy Wed 22-May-13 21:32:23

Awww, I reckon he really should have grown out of needing spliff at the age of 49. It's pathetic, in the truest sense of the word.

MrsBertMacklin Wed 22-May-13 21:35:12

Yes, Brian Harvey ran over his own head.

One of my favourite true stories ever.

Oh god, this always sets me off. Brian's account of the event is wonderful, too. www.timeout.com/london/music/brian-harvey-it-happened-here

Bunny, I didn't see that Wham photo at the time of the Snappy Snaps incident, I've given myself hiccups laughing at that. Much needed after the horror in today's news, thanks!

LynetteScavo Wed 22-May-13 21:42:26

Well, I think if he had a woman to take care of him, and maybe a couple of kids, to demonstrate how to use a car door safely, none of this would have happened.

YoniOneWayOfLife Wed 22-May-13 21:48:07

Bert He would have got away with it, if it wasn't for them pesky jacket potatoes grin

I'm sitting on a train snorting at Brian Harvey running over his own head. What a fud!

MrsBertMacklin Wed 22-May-13 21:53:45

'a late-night potato feast'

We've all been there, Brian.

LynetteScavo Wed 22-May-13 22:18:17

"late-night potato feast" - no, I've never been there.....late night kebabs, yes.....do you see the link here?

springlamb Wed 22-May-13 22:44:40

My brother in law fell out of a car on the motorway. But he is not George Michael and in fact it was the back seat.
It was round about 1960 and as far as he recalls he just kind of...fell out. He was picked up by an army van travelling behind and returned to his parents promptly. There is much mystery about the exact circumstances and his mother, who is now 96, refuses to discuss.
He has regaled us with this story many times after family dinners, along with the ceremonial exhibition of the scar on his foot caused by a dropped roast potato.
But I remind you, he is not George Michael. Nor do we think he had eaten a jacket potato but as the incident is shrouded in mystery we shall never really know.

LynetteScavo Wed 22-May-13 23:03:24

I hear there were lots of drugs around in the 60's....

Army van in the style of Trumpton. Just brilliant.

CalamityKate Thu 23-May-13 16:08:26

A mate of DHs fell out of his dads car once.

He was in the back, mucking about, opening the door and shutting it again to annoy his dad. Fairly quiet country road luckily and not going that fast.

So anyway he opens the door, falls out this time but his dad and the front seat passenger are a) Chatting b) Have the radio on and c) have decided to ignore the plonker in the back so they didn't notice he'd fallen out for a mile or so.
