Haven't read it yet but here it is:

women.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/women/families/article6926734.ece

Was so tempted to give it the strapline 'Daisy does Justine' but it just didn't sound right you know? grin

differentID Sat 21-Nov-09 22:25:43

We must have made one heck of an impression on Daisy- definitely sounds like she was badly mauledgrin

lissielou Sat 21-Nov-09 22:26:43

stroppy are we? wink and btw, i can stop anytime- no really, i can- im just a social mner!

LeninGrad Sat 21-Nov-09 22:28:47

All that passed me by but I know there is history. Interesting stuff. Hate the use of 'bitches' but that's my pet hate anyway.

I said on another thread that I didn't think DC got a particularly bad ride but maybe that's just my perception.

Wonder when Justine and Carrie's live webchat will be, it's been lobbied for in the webchat topic.

LeninGrad Sat 21-Nov-09 22:30:03

Prefer vipers to bitches but even that is a bit hackneyed now I think.

I wonder if registrations are up day to day with all the publicity?

Ronaldinhio Sat 21-Nov-09 22:32:07

think justine looks like cate blanchett there
v nice
could we start gransnet now?

sits down with biscuit sherry and slippers

differentID Sat 21-Nov-09 22:32:22

it would be interesting to chart whether visitor numbers are up in light of publicity. And also see how many new people actually register in the 4 weeks aftrewards?

Yeah, the bitches part was a little clunky, and I can't bear the word, either.

The remainder of the article was mediocre. Justine came out well (of course) but the writing was stilted, and I felt that either DG has not made up her mind about us, or she was stifling her real opinion.

LeninGrad Sat 21-Nov-09 22:35:10

You're right DIB, it didn't really flow but there was balance. It would have been easy to do a gushing piece, well not for Daisy as I understand it, but we are what we are, warts and all.

RustyBear Sat 21-Nov-09 22:36:26

Gransnet is already here in embryo form...

Habbibu Sat 21-Nov-09 22:40:52

Jeez, Daisy - still bitter? Perhaps you need a nice book of calming poems.

MmeLindt Sat 21-Nov-09 22:43:08

Hmmm, I think that Daisy does not like us.

I did snurk at the fact that it is easier to get a PM on MN than Gok.

LeninGrad Sat 21-Nov-09 22:43:24

Hey Habbs, how are you?

nevergoogledragonbutter Sat 21-Nov-09 22:43:38

Oh Justine, we love you. We don't mean to give you a hard time, it's the hormones y'see, we don't always mean to be horrible it just come out.
Can I have my pocket money?
And I don't think it's fair that rustybear gets more pocket money than me.
<goes to tidy room>

LeninGrad Sat 21-Nov-09 22:43:53

That was a good line MmeLindt.

LeninGrad Sat 21-Nov-09 22:46:24

smile never. That's it, instead of banning we could have time out and the naughty step. It'd be great, we could have emoticons showing which consequence has been applied and how much time there is before we are allowed to post again.

PartOfTheHumphreysGroup Sat 21-Nov-09 22:46:53

It seemed to me that riven was unfairly singled out, the rest of it is fairly average, not too bitter or unbalanced.
Did not know we were in bed with the guardian!

KristinaM Sat 21-Nov-09 22:50:26

y'know, for someone who makes a living writing opinion articles, daisy gets very narky if people disagree with her

MmeLindt Sat 21-Nov-09 22:50:36

Now I know that we are all a part of the MN community, but I suspect Justine might object to the thought of us all being in their bed.

RustyBear Sat 21-Nov-09 22:52:33

Well, I'm older than you dragonbutter, so ner
<<sticks out tongue>>

nevergoogledragonbutter Sat 21-Nov-09 22:52:51

move up a bit MmeLindt grin

justabouttoturn35 Sat 21-Nov-09 22:52:51

I think you handled her brilliantly, Justine. You sounded truthful and wise and caring.

Don't know what she had against Riven, that was bitchy. The rest is OK, fairly true.

justabouttoturn35 Sat 21-Nov-09 22:53:28

PS Is anyone else squirming at the idea of being addicted to Mumsnet and neglecting their children?

LadyBlaBlah Sat 21-Nov-09 22:53:35

It is a none article. I love the suspicion that there is some collective attempt to behave in a certain way.........and it just couldn't purely be spontaneous.

Did learn that Justine's husband is the dep editor of the Guardian and I did not know that, and I am not sure that it is of any relevance that I do now know that hmm

nevergoogledragonbutter Sat 21-Nov-09 22:53:35

<gives rustybear a deadleg>
