Danyl Johnson on X Factor.

I just don't get why people have such a downer on Danyl Johnson, making him out to be hugely cocky and overconfident. He is one of the best singers on the show.
Reading the paper this morning, there seems to be a feeling of satisfaction that he got what he deserved.
He has consistently performed well, and I just don't get why the media want to give him such a hard time. He is a nice lad who lives in my village near Reading, and is getting all this stuff written about how awful he is. My DH and DD1 met him at the rugby a few weeks ago and he was absolutely lovely, not diva-like at all. DD1 went all girly and star-struck, and lost the power of speech. He was SO kind, he told her not to be shy, and they had a nice little chat. My DH chatted to him too, and says he was a really nice guy.
I just think its really unfair the way he is being portrayed.
And Cheryl and that whole deadlock business, I've gone right off her now. Used to think she was nice.

Thought he did ok tonight and Cheryl actually liked him! There were loads of positive comments on xtra factor messages despite some nasty press again this week in the gossip rags. Any opinions on the hair?

I'd be interested to hear if anyone was converted tonight who hasn't been too keen so far, like Cheryl.

Only just come across this thread but PMSL at MmeGoblin's Cilla Black quote, so true! She is a right plastic scouser but like Paul O'Grady, keeps the accent going as that is all that people are interested in.

He needs to claim he has a sore throat. It worked for Lloyd, and Diana Vickers got a week off last year. I think a few of the others are already coming down with sore throats, so he needs to get one - fast!

So despite singing brilliantly for the first couple of weeks he was criticised for being cocky and ended up in the bottom 2, then last week he was all dejected, sang out of tune (for a bit) and allegedly got the highest vote. What should Mr Cowell be advising him to do this weekend?
If he ends up in the bottom 2 with one of the girls he's stuffed because Dannii is the only other judge supporting him. Hopefully it won't come to that.

I do think he has a good voice, but his facial expressions can be over the top. And he has this way of staring at the camera after each song...I don't think he deserved those awful headlines though...

I don't like him (as a singer, I know nothing about him as a person!) because though I think he's a great singer I find him boring.

I don't know why he's accused of being overconfident and cocky, never seen any sign of that.
