I watched the Royle Family Christmas special last week, it was the one where Denise and Dave were hosting and it was so funny, she had prefect comic timing.

So sad.

I love The Royle Family!! Such a shame sad

Why are all the wonderful and talented people leaving us? Cancer is the devil's advocate, especially for 2016!

nothingtoadd Sat 02-Jul-16 17:03:50

What? No way!

I was just thinking about her this week are watching 'born on the same day' with Ricky Tomlinson. She specifically wanted him for the role in The Royle Family.

What a talent. So sad.

Very sad, her Mrs Merton quip to Debbie McGee still makes me laugh.

I loved her, Denise Royle :-( that's nana, Denise and Twiggy gone :-(

RIP She was so talented as both an actress and a writer. I remember she battled serious depression too.

Just a thought but they were always smoking on set, I do wonder if this might have added to her health problems.

ShowOfHands Sat 02-Jul-16 17:44:21

Such a talented woman. She was flawed, human and brilliant. What a terrible loss.

annandale Sat 02-Jul-16 17:45:40

Oh Christ. Poor woman and her poor family.

FiveShelties Sat 02-Jul-16 17:45:58

So very sad, she was a very talented lady - just loved her in The Royle Family.

WingMirrorSpider Sat 02-Jul-16 17:47:04

I think nana (Liz Smith) is still alive isn't she?

RIP Caroline x

Heratnumber7 Sat 02-Jul-16 17:49:47

Of course it would have 2nds. That's why smoking indoors is now banned.

wobblywonderwoman Sat 02-Jul-16 17:51:37

Thoughts to her family. Wonderful woman. Xx

BoatyMcBoat Sat 02-Jul-16 18:00:20

RIP flowers such a talented girl.

Latentprint Sat 02-Jul-16 18:04:50

Shocked and saddened. She was so young.

Grassgreendashhabi Sat 02-Jul-16 18:08:35

Herat - I lost my mum to lung cancer. She never smoked a cigarette ever or did anyone in the family.

What a dismissive comment to make!

Honeyandfizz Sat 02-Jul-16 18:08:50

So so sad what a talent. I think her cancer was a rare form unrelated to her smoking, she had had cancer as a child too I recall her being interviewed a while ago about it.

Rip

EllenJanethickerknickers Sat 02-Jul-16 18:14:44

Yes, it was related to her retinoblastoma she had as a baby. So sad. I loved her on The Fast Show as well.

NewLife4Me Sat 02-Jul-16 18:14:54

Aw, so sad. She was diagnosed a long time ago, iirc shortly after coming out of rehab, she was an alcoholic.
My friend started work at the BBC at the same time before CA was famous, she was known for being a right laugh even in the offices.
My favourite sketch was the weather forecast, scorchio.
May she RIP x

This is so sad
herat that was such a twatty thing to say

mamamea Sat 02-Jul-16 18:20:02

"Very sad, her Mrs Merton quip to Debbie McGee still makes me laugh."

It was incredibly bitchy tbh. She served up some has-beens and never-weres and was rude to them using an act.
