"Cameron's Brain", Mr Moderniser, says we must leave the EU

Cameron, himself, says no. Does this mean that Cameron has lost his marbles?

Journalists in the Westminster Bubble report that they are hearing cries of "Et tu, Mr Moderniser? Why did you have to tell the public the truth?" from senior modernisers on the Remain side.

"Why we MUST quit the EU, by Cameron's guru: Friend and strategist Steve Hilton breaks ranks on Brexit to say Britain will be 'literally ungovernable' unless we take back power from the self-serving elite

David Cameron’s closest friend in politics today breaks ranks to say Britain must leave the ‘arrogant and unaccountable’ EU.

In a shattering blow to the Prime Minister, Steve Hilton claims the UK is ‘literally ungovernable’ as a democracy while it remains in a club that has been ‘corruptly captured’ by a self-serving elite."

'Have not heard of Mr Hilton before... who is he!'

Mr Moderniser, described by those in the know as "Cameron's Brain". Without him, Cameron would have been a mere shell, a moderniser without a rudder, a nut without the husk.

'David's brain' transforms Tory brand
...
Hilton, 37, is "David's brain" or "alter ego", say those who know him."

www.theguardian.com/politics/2006/dec/02/uk.marketingandpr

From some of Cameron's promouncements, there was some disquiet among political observers as to whether he had a brain, and it was a fair question which was widely discussed, but those "in the know" were reassured that Hilton, Mr Moderniser, was in fact the "brain" at the heart of policy. Hilton was wild, he went where others feared to tread, he filled Middle England and the Daily Mail reader with utter dread, but Cameron followed him like a puppy.

"Yet Hilton's rise has provoked suspicion among traditional Conservatives, even his erstwhile mentor, Lord Saatchi, who recently attacked the Tories for pursuing the centre ground and turning politics into a commodity market. "I don't know him; we [MPs] are far too far down the food chain [for him]," said one unimpressed backbencher. "Sadly, I think phrases like 'hug a hoodie' will enter the lexicon."

Hilton made mostakes, he went wild and of course Cameron followed wherever he went, but now Hilton is back and is beginning to talk some common sense. He understands the Trump phenomenon, believes in democracy and taking power from the elites, so a new phase has begun and he has left Cameron behind in the dust.

Now Cameron is adrift on the sea with his guiding star, Mr Moderniser, wh has broken ranks and dashed for freedom and eacape from the bureaucratic, elitist, corporate EU.

Hilton is tomorrow's man, because he is with the people, and Cameron is yesterday's man, history, insulting Trump and aligning himself with the Brussels bureaucrats.

The Establishment have tried to brand the Brexiters as old-fashioned UKIP types, but now that Hilton has joined them, there is consternation among the Bremain camp, because Hilton was Cameron's brain, the man who singlehandedly invented modernisation and directed Cameron down that path.

That is why all across Westminster, you can hear the modernisers cry

"Et tu, Steve? You, too, have joined the people and want to Leave"

Hilton's shock announcement and well-thought out article in Britain's leading political paper, the Daily Mail (note not the Mail on Sunday which has modernising tendencies and lacks the common sense of the weekly Daily Mail under the brilliant editorship of the People's Editor, Paul Dacre) is causing pandemonium among the press. Headlines are just emerging across all newsstands in the capital

"Cameron’s former strategy guru says Britain is ‘UNGOVERNABLE’ in the EU & calls for Brexit"

www.express.co.uk/news/uk/672806/Cameron-s-former-strategy-guru-says-Britain-is-UNGOVERNABLE-in-the-EU-calls-for-Brexit

PPEs at the highest levels have been convened as a matter of urgency, asked to leave their drinking dens immediately, to discuss tactics in response to this bombshell news. There are reports that Cameron may have been seen muttering with his "head in his hands" a la Gordon Brown.

Hilton is bound to be on all the TV news reports this evening and will probably eclipse the Bremainers' strategy of releasing another one of their "you're all doomed if you defy us and choose to leave" reports where they tell us we will all lose £3457 and 14 pence per year if we choose freedom.

Some of the best teenage spinners are now skateboarding their way to Number 10 to advise on how to counter Mr Moderniser's monumental announcement. Trains from Oxbridge to London are reported to be full of wonks and wazzocks heading towards Central London for crisis talks, Brussels bureaucrats are heading towards Westminster on the Eurostar, it's absolite panic and the people laugh.

Graffiti is already going up around London streets "Mr Moderniser for Prime Minister, all the modernisation is forgiven, Steve, the Daily Mail reader supports you 100%"

Very interesting. Do you think there is any possibility that Cameron could re-consider and change his mind, or is it too late. I still get the feeling that he is not genuine about wanting to stay in, his heart does not seem to be in it, and he appears too desperate. Could he change sides do you think?

'Do you think there is any possibility that Cameron could re-consider and change his mind, or is it too late'

No chance. He is Establishment. He has no option at all. He has to carry on regardless.

This is the people versus the elites and Cameron is with the elites, he cannot be anything else.

Blimey, Steve Hilton is right on the money. He even uses a term that all right thinking people use "Etsbalishment stooges". The truth at last, the Establishment's walls have been breached, their fortifications are crumbling, their lies are collapsing and the people are rampant as they charge through the barricades of bullshit and lies.

Talk about a revolution. Mr Modrniser is right uo there at the front. Hilton, the PPE, is with the people. These are truly incredible times we are living through as the people speak truth to power and it looks like it is the end of all the shower.

"But perhaps the most powerful argument for leaving the EU is to look at the people who are wheeled out to persuade us to stay: figures like the International Monetary Fund boss Christine Lagarde, Bank of England Governor Mark Carney, advertising giant Sir Martin Sorrell, as well as the Confederation of British Industry and all the other Establishment stooges.

They want us to stay in the EU because their whole world depends upon it. Their lifestyle of summit meetings and first-class flights and five-star hotels; their flitting and floating from New York to Brussels to Beijing, serving the interests of the technocratic elite — the bankers, bureaucrats and accountants who run the modern world and who, regardless of which government is in power in which country, push the same old dogma of global-isation, privatisation and centralisation."
...
Taking back power from arrogant, unaccountable, hubristic elites and putting it where it belongs. In people’s hands."

Hilton for Prime Minister. All is forgiven. The Daily Mail reader supports "Cameron's Brain" but not Cameron or the body of his politic.

Have to disagree. A thread that relies on stuff printed in the notoriously mendacious Mail isn't in the least interesting.

Steve Hilton's comments published in the Mail are from his new book. As it says at the bottom of the article:

This is an adapted extract from a new revised paperback edition of More Human — Designing A World Where People Come First, by Steve Hilton, to be published on Thursday by WH Allen, £8.99. © Steve Hilton 2016.

More Human: Designing a World Where People Come First Hardcover – 21 May 2015
by Steve Hilton (Author), Jason Bade (Author), Scott Bade (Author)

Government, business, the lives we lead, the food we eat, the way our children are brought up, the way we relate to the natural world around us – it's all become too big and distant and industrialised. Inhuman. It's time to do something about it. It's time to put people first. It's time to make the world more human.

Steve Hilton, visiting professor at Stanford University and former senior adviser to Prime Minister David Cameron, believes that the frustrations people have with government, politics, their economic circumstances and their daily lives are caused by deep structural problems in the systems that dominate our modern world – systems that are broken because they've grown too far from the human scale. He shows us how change is possible, offering the latest research, compelling stories and case studies from all over the world across industry, politics, education, design and social action to show us what can happen when we make our world more human. This book is a manifesto and call to action for a more local, more accountable and more human way of living that will make us more productive, more fulfilled and ultimately happier..

So we can happily ignore the Mail and read the real thing..

'I've always thought Hilton is a dick-head'

I thought so too because he was described as "Cameron's Brain".

However, recently he has shown such wisdom and honesty in describing the "Establishment stooges" and elites etc, that I realise I was wrong.

Isn't Hilton the person who came up with the concept of 'the Big Society'? You know, the one where the government cuts funding to all kinds of things that are useful to vulnerable people and then just tells us to go out there and volunteer -because none of us have jobs to go to and families to bring up and we don't need sleep either, do we?

In which case why would I believe a thing he says about anything? Not that I believe Cameron either. I think all sides in this debate are lying. No-one, but no-one knows what will happen in the event of Brexit. I wish they would just admit that and say 'No, we don't have a clue. Vote with your heart.'

Quite agree pointy. Martin Lewis, Money Saving Expert said something similar to "if anyone tells you what will happen in the event of Brexit ignore them. They are lying. No one knows what will happen. Vote with your gut feeling". Seems a bit simple with both sides bandying figures put left right and centre, but I agree with him.

"Cameron's green guru reveals his doubts over global warming

Steve Hilton, the Prime Minister’s director of strategy and ‘green guru’, is the latest person to admit to doubts about climate change.

‘I’m not sure I believe in it,’ he announced at a meeting of the Energy Department, prompting one aide to blurt out: ‘Did I just hear that correctly?’
