Yes I think we will

Sadly I believe there will be a yes vote.

The hypocrisy is horrendous.

I think they will vote yes. Sad

I think the UK public will along with innocents in Syria etc will become collateral damage for this decision.

I would prefer the money went on public services.

Flipping the insult V at those that vote for.

So we bomb them. Then what? The whole of ISIS is annihilated? Terrorism is gone forever? Syria becomes a joyful, peaceful country? I think we all know the answer to that one. Depressing.

At least a a war will be a convenient excuse for George Osbourne to fail at meeting any of his targets. Again.

NoTechnologicalBreakdown · 02/12/2015 11:35

Sadly I also think yes. And absolutely no investigation into the finances of IS at all of course.

Is there any way to register a 'vote of no confidence' in the current government, before the next election?

howtorebuild · 02/12/2015 11:37

You create start a government petition, I will sign.

Unfortunatly yes. Knee jerk reactions to make it look like we're doing something, have always worked so well in the past.... Politicians never seem to listen or learn.

There are several already going - hang on I will link

He is pissing them all off refusing to apologise for his Terrorist sympathizer comments.

Govt petition here

Also write to your MP, it's not too late

Report

I signed that one. Hopefully others may too.

I think we will have. This makes me deeply sad and worried that it will only grow ISIS further.

Report
slicedfinger · 02/12/2015 11:57

It makes me sick to think it, but I fear the worst. I find it hard to believe so many MPs will support the government line when I do not know a single member of the public who sees this as a solution.

Report
Spidertracker · 02/12/2015 12:01

I think it will be a yes. I also think that for the government it is a case of damned if you do damned if you don't.
You see if we do nothing and we suffer an attack then people will shout "why didn't you try to prevent this" if we bomb and we suffer an attack people will shout " why did you bomb? We are being punished for your actions".
I would hate to be an MP right now, its a no win situation.

Report
Pipestheghost · 02/12/2015 12:02

Of course.
A great distraction from other problems happening here and now within our country.
One of the (varied and many) reasons this situation has come about is because 'the coalition' bombed the fuck out of Iraq, surely?

Report
pavlova71 · 02/12/2015 12:04

Undoubtedly yes.
I really feel completely despairing about this.

You could sign this petition, if you are so minded.

petition.parliament.uk/petitions/113064

Or this one

petition.parliament.uk/petitions/113231

Both are completely dwarfed, however, by the almost half a million signatures to

'Stop all immigration and close the UKs borders until ISIS are defeated'

Guess I am in the minority here. Still fucking angry though.

Report
WingMirrorSpider · 02/12/2015 12:06

Just signed the petition too. I don't know anybody irl who wants this.

Report
FurryDogMother · 02/12/2015 12:07

It's a foregone conclusion, isn't it, and so bloody wrong I could scream.

Report
Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 02/12/2015 12:13

I think sadly we will. But I'm hoping I'm wrong, mind. I and I guess most of us don't see what bombing a country that is already battered and broken is going to achieve. Why sacrifice innocent people for the abymal atrocities of Isis. They're talking about bombing and killing innocent people who have played no part in terrorism at all.

Report
TheoriginalLEM · 02/12/2015 12:14

Bombing people from the sky is no different from bombing people in the streets with suicide bombers - it is an act of terrorism and it is going to release a shit storm that we have thus far avoided :(

George Osborne's deficit reduction targets are dependent on mass immigration. I suspect this is how he plans to achieve it.

Report
shazzarooney99 · 02/12/2015 13:00

I just think its ridicolous that they are cutting services everywhere apparently to get the deficit down but yet they will spend billions going to war when many countries are actually bombing anyway? I would rather the money pumped into all the services they have cut!

Report
MagicalMrsMistoffelees · 02/12/2015 13:03

Am watching the debate now. I so hope it's a NO. I've not met anyone in real life who wants the UK to bomb Syria. Not because they're 'terrorist sympathisers' but because it's not going to stop Isis.

Like him or not, Jeremy Corbyn has integrity. A breath of fresh air amongst corrupt politicians.

The idiots who heckle when others are speaking are a disgrace. You'd not be allowed to behave like that in the classroom or work place. It's just plain rude.

'I've not met anyone in real life who wants the UK to bomb Syria'

Same here and yet the media claims that there are lots, apart from the MPs.
