Initial reports had the dad running from an attempt to serve a warrant for his arrest, ramming the police car and then engaging in a gun fight.

It has since come out that there were no warrants out for his arrest, the City Guard were police officers moonlighting and had NO jurisdiction to make the stop, the dad was unarmed and there is no evidence of him even putting his car into reverse, never mind ramming the Guard vehicle.

The case was handed to the State Police who on review, have arrested two of the officers for 2nd degree murder. 18 shots were fired, 5 of them hit 6yo Jeremy in the head and chest, killing him. His dad is currently in hospital in a critical condition.

If this is indeed how it played out then I think they have to be charged with murder, so support this decision.

It is shocking, isn't it.

I was told that when this sort of thing happens then the police are not allowed to be questioned until after 30 days. The implication being that that gives them time to get their story straight. No idea if that's true, though.

they were arrested and questioned quite quickly, but while the two guys were police officers, they were working/moonlighting as City Marshals when this happened, and its the State Police dealing with it so there was no cross over of jurisdiction.

They could have been trying a citizens arrest? But from what we have heard so far it sounds like they are in the wrong so support them being put on trial
