Pat Buchanan - Can the Establishment stop Trump or is it all over?

Pat Buchanan, one of the few real non-moderniser conservatives left on the planet, says it looks near to impossible for the Establishment to stop Trump now.

Carly Fiorina has collapsed to 4%, the Establishmentg media hype failed to help her, and Marco Rubio is now the Establishment's last chance to save themselves.

"The lights are burning late tonight in the suites of the establishment. For not since Sen. Barry Goldwater won the California primary in 1964 have their prospects appeared so grim.

Can Trump be stopped?"

www.wnd.com/2015/10/can-trump-be-stopped/

As Pat says, the mood of the people has changed. They are anti the political correctness agenda of the elites and the modernisers,

"In a year when a huge slice of the nation is disgusted with political correctness, wants to dethrone the establishment, wipe the slate clean and begin anew with someone fresh, Trump is in the pole position."

What happens in America could sweep here too. It looks like we may be witnessing the end of political correctness and the modernisers.

It's getting mental. Especially now all hype surrounding Trump's "prediction" of 9/11.

www.mediaite.com/online/joe-scarborough-dumbfounded-to-learn-that-donald-trump-predicted-911/

Jeb Bush is a cunt though. Dubya bush was a moron cunt, Hilary Clinton can fuck off to cuntsville. Not a good looking buch, any of them really. Trump is totally "trumping" on the "Bush started war" card though.

Too true and all.

Wow, I hadn't heard about this. It is difficult to keep up with all the bombshells Trump keeps dropping.

He questioned McCain's war hero status and the Establishment went ballistic trying to stop him and it had no effect. Now he's turned on Bush, he was against the Iraq War, he is against the Syria policy and even Ukraine policy it looks like. He is just not playing ball with the Establishment at all and they don't know how to stop him.

If he wins, nothing will ever be the same again. They don't frighten him, he is against their political correctness, so they can't quieten him.

' I think the big problem this country has is being politically correct'

He doesn't so as he is told and if he gets in, he will start telling the Establishment what to do and they don't like it.

If Trump gets in he will stop the War Party's plan for a war with Russia. He says he thinks he will get on with Putin. He will stop the wars and the waste of money and will concentrate on rebuilding America and making it great again. No wonder they are desperate to stop him.

Yep.

But, Bernie Sanders, who is, like America's "Corbyn" (kinda) is my guy.

He's actually ahead of Trump in latest polls.

If Sanders gets in, being a humanitarian, he'd also stop the war mongering too.

How about all this!

Trump tweet

"We the people have had enough. Enough with the political correctness, the lamestream media dictating our every thought, the weakness in DC."

The elite use political correctness to control what people think and to dictate the agenda. With Trump, that is all going to collapse overnight and it will have huge ramifications over here too, as all the political hangers-on, the paid for puppets etc all change their game when Trump takes charge.

You're right, if Sanders gets in, he will also change America and stop the pointless wars that help the bankers. Either way, the bankers are facing a bleak future whoever gets in because the people will no longer be working for the bankers.

The trouble with Sanders is that he gave Hillary a free pass on the emails and some people, like Trump, are saying that means he doesn't want to win it and take her on.

We still don't know if Trumop is for real or whether he will just be like Ross Perot, but if he is for real, the bankers, their buddies and their politically correct puppets are in for a bad time.

As Pat Buchanan said

"not since Sen. Barry Goldwater won the California primary in 1964 have their prospects appeared so grim."

Why don't you tell it how it is claig? Trump says things that are sexist and racist. You obviously think that's great, so why hide it by saying he is 'anti-political correctness'. He is just an unpleasant person who because he is independently rich can say what the hell he likes. Sadly nothing he says has any merit.

If he does end up with the Republican nomination then the Democratic candidate is almost guaranteed to win. Unless it's Bernie Saunders as he is equally on the far side of the left's spectrum. But it's highly unlikely to be anyone other than Hilary.

Um, I'm not sure trump will actually have that impact. I'm not entirely sure he knows what he's signing up for, he seems pretty clueless to me, government isn't business, it's a lot more frustrating and difficult.

I don't think he is racist or sexist. I think he has broken the Establishment's Overton window of political correctness by questioning McCain's war record, questioning that Bush "kept America safe", questioning the anti Putin policy that could potentially lead to a third world war that would benefit only the bankers, questioning the climate change game that is hampering American industry, questioning the offshoring of jobs that is making Americans poorer apart from the 1% who are getting richer and questioning immigration.

He has blown their political correctness scam wide open by questioning nearly all of their sacred cows and real conservative voters love it as much as the Establishment, their modernisers and puppets fear it.

'If he does end up with the Republican nomination then the Democratic candidate is almost guaranteed to win. '

I think you are making the mistake of underestimating how many people are against the political correctness and spin, the Gordon Brown strutting speeches and the Jamie Oliver "campaigns" to change attitudes, and if it is between Trump and Clinton, then Trump will win hands down. However, Biden would be a more formidable opponent as he is not as politically correct.

This is what Pat Buchanan said and I think he is right about the anti-establishment mood all over the world that wants to sweep the elite's politically correct paid-for puppets out of office.

"In a year when a huge slice of the nation is disgusted with political correctness, wants to dethrone the establishment, wipe the slate clean and begin anew with someone fresh, Trump is in the pole position."

Trump has tapped into the national mood, and the mood worldwide, of the majority of the people (the silent majority, not the Jamie Oliver media campaign people) and that is why the Establishment is powerless to stop him.

I don't think so. He is a leader and he will hire the best to "make America great again". It's not hard to do if there is a will. I think somebody must be backing Trump and wants him to win and change America and take it out of the hands of the current Establishment clique. It may be some of the military or other important people, I don't know, but somebody must be helping him and giving him information because the entire Establishment is against him and he can't beat them alone.

I actually think trump is a plant to explode the republican party. Pat B is likely one of trumps backers. But trump isn't against banks, he wouldn't be the wealthy man he is without the banks, to believe otherwise it's naive.

What explains Trump's phenomenal success? How can he be so politically incorrect and challenge every establishment sacred cow and succeed against an establishment and media that quells any dissent about sugar taxes etc and has to use luvvies and slebs to campaign for what it wants rather than campaigning for it itself because the political class is so unpopular with the people?

I think it was Trump said

"The silent majority is back"

The people are back, we're back and we know they are spinning us with their slebs and "campaigns" and political correctness and a huge number of people have had enough and that silent majority will give Trump victory just as it gave Nixon victory, and of course, the legendary Pat Buchanan, real conservative and no moderniser, was chief speechwriter for Nixon and knows what makes the people tick and knows that the establishment fear Trump and the silent majority.

"Donald Trump's Secret Weapon: The Silent Majority?
...
It isn’t surprising that nobody in Washington or on Wall Street or in the public-employee unions saw it coming. That’s quite typical for such elites basking in their political privilege. But the Silent Majority is beginning to rumble, and Donald Trump is just the kind of man to try to capture that sentiment in his snarling, dismissive, attack-dog manner.

He may or may not succeed. But, whatever happens to Trump in the coming campaign year, the Silent Majority will be around through Election Day."

'I actually think trump is a plant to explode the republican party.'

Yes that is possible. There are conspiracy theories that he is a mate of teh Clintons and will help Hillary win by destroying the Republican candidates, in a smiliar way to how the legendary Ross Perot, loved by real conservatives, let us down and handed victory to Bill Clinton.

We will have to wait and see.

So you don't think it is sexist to call women you disagree with 'bimbos', 'fat pigs', 'dogs' or say that they are 'disgusting' for breastfeeding, or that they are all gold diggers, or say that your daughter is hot or talk about having 'a young and beautiful piece of ass' any of the other grossly sexist things that come out of his mouth? I guess you just have very different standards.

Sure he isn't beholden to anyone (except for his family who gave him the money he used to build his empire) but essentially as a hugely moneyed businessman he is a part of the establishment. Not the political establishment, but the corporate establishment, and in the States, that's who actually pull the strings.

I haven't heard or seen the quotes. Have you got the quotes in context please? He is blunt, he is attack-dog, he is not prim and proper and not politically correct, he shoots from the hip, but that is what people like because it means he has the courage to be honest and not in thrall to the politically correct elite who don't want to be challenged over McCain's war hero status or anything else. I think Trump went too far about Mexicans, but that is the negative flip-side of his positive ability to defy the politically correct manufactured consensus on other issues.

Yes, but he is not getting money from them. The corporate elite is backing the corporate parties whom they have in their pockets, what Trump calls the "puppets" who can be bought and do as they are told by moneyed elites. They can't buy Trump which is why they don't trust him and fear him. He is independent of them and may turn on them unlike the paid-for puppets and that is why they all want to stop Trump.

Maud, shall we wait and see before we cast judgement in haste. If Trump does not do a Ross Perot on us and let us down by dropping out or dropping deliberate clangers to help Clinton, I predict Trump will be the next President of the United States and the panic among modernisers and puppets across the entire globe will be like nothing we have ever witnessed. Their entire game will be up. No more sugar tax and all the rest of it, and no more slebs "campaigning" and complaining.

Claig you don't seem to get it. Trump can talk about not being a puppet bought by the corporate elite because he is one of the corporate elite. He doesn't need their money because he already has it. You can't be anti the corporate/moneyed elite and also champion one of their own.

Is it really 'courageous' to shoot from the mouth when there are zero consequences of any note?

If you've not heard him saying anything sexist or racist then I would suggest that you've not heard, read or watched much of the guy. It's not exactly something he's kept secret. He has chosen to be in the public eye for a long time, long before he decided to throw his hat in the political ring. Just watch a few old episodes of the Apprentice for example.

'Trump can talk about not being a puppet bought by the corporate elite because he is one of the corporate elite. He doesn't need their money because he already has it'

Then why do they all fear him? Why aren't they all backing him to win? He will upset their entire applecart. They asked him on Fox the other day if he would shit down the government to stop funding the planned parenthood stuff. He said he won't say because he wants to be unpredictable. It is that unpredictability that terrifies them because they don't control him and aren't sure what he will do.

'Is it really 'courageous' to shoot from the mouth when there are zero consequences of any note?'

Very much so because he has to endure all the criticism of the politically correct clases and the media pundits and the lapdog puppet politicians he is campaigning against. A weak person would cave in, like Corbyn over singing the national anthem etc, and would not give a straight answer. But the reason people like Trump is because he doesn't cave in, he has even upped the ante over Bush and poor old "low energy" Jeb Bush is knocking back the lucozade trying to keep up.

' Just watch a few old episodes of the Apprentice for example.'

I haven't seen any of those so I don't know what he is like in them.
