Wow. Just wow.
I cannot imagine how the families of those who perished must have felt to have listening to his evidence. All these years later, when some who have campaigned for justice have themselves died, and an entire city pretty much derided for wallowing in grief, they now have light at the end of the tunnel.

I had friends who were there that day and who attended the original inquests and enquiries. They said it was a disgraceful coverup, that the police were determined to blame the fans no matter what.

Innocent men, women and children died that day because of the decisions of the people in charge. My friends were traumatised for life by what they saw that day. But what they went through is nothing compared to what the victims and their families went through.

JFT96 at last.

Relieved and angered to hear this. They will get their justice.

After his admissions could he be charged with manslaughter?

I've read that the families of the 96 and their legal advisors are asking that people dont comment online about Duckenfields evidence as they are concerned it may prejudice any action taken after the inquests are completed.
after all these years i cant blame them

I was reading an article about him today. I'm not usually at a loss for words, but today I was - all i could keep saying was "asshole".

I would imagine criminal charges Re inevitable as, on his own admission, he misled the original inquest.
Apparently he was confronted by a bereaved father outside the hearing room. That's the very least he deserves.

What I can't understand is why he didn't take advice from other police who understood the problem, it's effing shocking that such a person had that power.
