Just saw that millions will lose the money they have been saving all year ready for Christmas - wondered if anyone had been affected, can't believe they left it so long to let people know!

I am trying to just think that xmas isn't just about the cash and gifts but hey i want to see their faces light up like every other year like any other parent does.

Will need to scrimp and save as much as poss and hope we can get through it.

mnetters who have had losses and bereavements this year have it sooo much harder so i'm not gonna be too down about it.

Put my lo's to bed and realised that they want me more than a groovy little tikes kitchen.lol

Agalch, you should post your kids Christmas list. I bet that between us all, MN could help out.

Cackle(((hugs)))
That is so sweet but i bet i'm not the only one on here whos been done over by farepak.

If we are really careful we can surely manage some of what they want and my 2 boys are old enough to understand whats going on.My 2 dd's are only 2yrs and 11 weeks so they are happy with little things atm.

But thanks anyway

Oh no Agalch! I checked this thread earlier and was really relieved to see no replys (for once!) but did a quick check before bed and saw this! I really hope that there is some way of getting the money back, I know it's looking pretty dire right now though isn't it?

Hi FB

AFAIK nobody will get their money back.My 3 friends and i each did the vouchers with a local agent(who is away on hols atm,big shock for her when she comes back).1 friend and i took 700 quid, another took 200 and my other took 850 so we are all in a bit of a mess.

But hey it actually could be worse eh?

a lot of the families who use these people do so because they have little money and need to save a small amount when they can. I know there are lots of mumsnetters who are journalists - can't one of the papers start up a fund to help these families out a bit? I know data protection laws make things difficult but presumably money could be passed to the liquidator solely for the benfit of those who had paid in?
