I read that. To be fair the police were trying to put to bed the rumours about someone (her dh) finding it and disposing of it.

I too don't know how her husband couldn't be aware she was taking heroin. But I've never used drugs so maybe you can conceal this.

Having worked with drug users I can tell you that it is sometimes very hard to know. If the drugs are being used in a recreational manner and not daily then it is possible for it to be hidden from family and others.

With heroin, you can inject it or smoke it. Smoking it is normally on foil (as in kitchen foil). The paraphernalia could have been foil and a lighter, not necessarily needles. A close member of my family managed to hide his heroin addiction for 3 months without 3 adults who lived in the same house. It was only when we -snooped- put clothes away in his draws, that we found balls of tin foil and other bits associated with heroin use - no needles though.

If Tom was going to his Mother's every weekend maybe that's when she secretly did heroin without him knowing.

It's really sad and I don't think we'll ever know why she did it.

A school friend of mine was on heroin for a couple of years. He got clean, sorted, got a job etc and was ok for about 5 years. One day, he had a big bender with alcohol, and then took on hit of heroin. Killed him instantly. Still don't know why he took it.

Heartbreaking, she must have been in such pain for a very long time.

Well he's only young himself. He probably enjoyed being at his parents and didn't want to be parted from the babies.

It's pretty much impossible to od smoking heroin though, an overdose points to injecting.

Maybe her return to heroin is why?

I can't imagine Bob Geldof not knowing that his daughter has gone back to heroin. He knows this drug well, knows its effects on users, stuff users do to conceal their habit.

I wonder if she was suffering from PND and the drugs were her way of trying to cope. Her babies are very close in age and I imagine she put a lot of pressure on herself to be the perfect mum as a result of her own upbringing.
