So what do you think? I can't help but think this reminds me of when Arafat died. People are celebrating in Miama in anticipation of this being the end of Fidel.

Oh, well the BBc updated their site like seconds after I posted this. Sorry about the link. Should have posted it myself.

But, still, will be intersting to see if Castro is well enough to appear himself.

Wonder how would the country cope when he dies. It has been far too long ruled by a single hand.

Anyways, supose it can only go in two ways, they have a good transition like Spain, or everything goes down the drain with a new civil war.

What I don't understand is the celebrations. Even if he is dying (which sounds doubtful now), it is his brother who will take over. Surely, he is much the same as Fidel? Granted he's no spring chicken either so I guess Cuba will soon see a new leader.

But, don't forget that their next government could be a democratic one... that would be interesting.

I just foresee the US using any excuse to take over....

Oh no.... not another one. Sorry, but I can't take any more US bashing today.... I'm going to bed now....

The USA are just waiting to turn Cuba into a theme park of brothels and casinos. Sorry but it is probably true. lets see shall we?

I don't really think so... (about the casinos) but there is no country in Latin America where their hand has not been felt. I guess that Cuba can easily become a second Puerto Rico at best and another Panama at worst.
