Just heard this on BBC News 24.

I hope everybody is ok.
What on earth?!!

SoMuchToBits Fri 29-Nov-13 22:52:03

Really? Where was he helicopter from?

GoodNeighbour Fri 29-Nov-13 22:53:39

No idea.

Some people trapped in the pub apparently.

It will have been busy as well, Friday night, end of the month.
sad

Oh no, I live not far from the heliport and drive past that pub most days. What a terrible accident.

There isn't much info out there

GoodNeighbour Fri 29-Nov-13 22:59:07

No, frustratingly little information at the moment.

I have friends who go to the Clutha Inn quite often.

Pancakeflipper Fri 29-Nov-13 23:00:20

It's on radio 5 at the moment, talking to a man who went to help.

GoodNeighbour Fri 29-Nov-13 23:01:08

They are talking about injuries, not dead.
Here's hoping.

SantanaLopez Fri 29-Nov-13 23:02:17

Clutha? What was a helicopter doing so low there?!

GoodNeighbour Fri 29-Nov-13 23:02:31

A crap, 'multiple casualties' sad

scaevola Fri 29-Nov-13 23:03:31

Bloody hell.

What's the usual closing time in Glasgow - would it have been busy?

FortyFacedFuckers Fri 29-Nov-13 23:05:35

It's usually a very busy place on as Friday night

Oh wow, how horrible. You don't think about helicopters crashing in built-up areas - at least, I hadn't.

JaquelineHyde Fri 29-Nov-13 23:07:11

They think it is a police helicopter with a mechanical failure.

SantanaLopez Fri 29-Nov-13 23:07:37

Closing time is midnight normally, but it would have been packed.

GoodNeighbour Fri 29-Nov-13 23:09:37

It crashed on the roof apparently.

I hope they get lots more people out.
40+ firefighters at the scene apparently.

FortyFacedFuckers Fri 29-Nov-13 23:10:22

Really hoping this isn't as bad as it looks in the pictures.

RhondaJean Fri 29-Nov-13 23:13:28

This has made my blood run cold, what a terrible thing, imagine just being out for a drink one Friday night and this happened. Watching bbc news.

Mignonette Fri 29-Nov-13 23:15:44

Trying to get hold of my niece. She's out in Glasgow and cannot get hold of her. Parents are frantic. sad

GoodNeighbour Fri 29-Nov-13 23:16:55

Oh no, mignonette, I hope they get in touch quickly x.

RhondaJean Fri 29-Nov-13 23:17:23

Oh bloody he'll the photo from above doesn't look good.

Mignonette, chances are she's either somewhere loud or with no reception having a whale of a time, doesn't even know what's going on out there, fingers crossed for you x

FortyFacedFuckers Fri 29-Nov-13 23:17:24

Let us know when you get her migon fingers crossed she is nowhere near.

SantanaLopez Fri 29-Nov-13 23:17:55

Oh Mignonette how scary sad so many Glasgow pubs and clubs are in basements, you rarely get phone signals.
