Wtf is going on? A 30yr old British woman who had never seen the outside world? But isn't related to anyone else involved?? Who is she? shock

Terrifying. Makes you wonder how much of this is going on.

I saw this earlier, families in the UK and Ireland must be so hopeful. I can't remember where the other lady was from? I was so upset for them, thank goodness they are free, now the healing can begin.

I suspect the 30 yr old is the daughter of the two who've been arrested.

There is something very odd about this story. Apparently the woman does not seem to be the daughter of the male captor, and all the women seem to be of different ethnicities/nationalities, which begs the question where did they get her from?

And how come she has been kept prisoner for her whole life, presumably not gone to school etc, and yet the paper has reported that she sent over 200 love letters to a young male neighbour she became infatuated with. She also sent him loads of photos of herself taken on her phone. I read one of the letters and she certainly doesn't write/speak like someone who has had virtually no contact with the outside world. What kind of a person is kept prisoner for the entire 30 years of her life with only three or four other people for company, two of whom are also allegedly held captive, with no access to formal education, no contact with her peer group, very limited access to TV etc, and yet knows how to send photos from her phone to a boy she likes? confused What kind of captor buys his prisoner a mobile phone and allows internet access? confused And if she's been a prisoner all this time then how did she meet the neighbour? confused

In the letter she is basically telling him that she is being held by evil people who 'dare to call themselves [her] family' against her will, yet these letters allegedly went on for several years, and it's only occurred to him to talk to the police about it now? confused

There are more holes in this story than in a giant lump of Gouda.
