b/c, starlover, she's an artiste. [rolls eyes]. i never understood the whole madonna thing.

I often think that.

You know, 'Oh God, I just want to be an artist'.

And you know, it IS hard.

oooooh is that what it is? lol

The only type of artist I wuold like to be is a PISS one!!!

I hate people like her - does she think the music she has created is better than what she could be giving her children by spending more time with them!!!

Shall we have a whip-round and buy her a torch? She'll need it to find her way out from up her own @rse...

Did anyone really think she would be a good mother? Celebs are far too self obsessed. She had babies because they were the latest must-have accessory.

Hmm "I'm a crap mother but look how great I am" that sounds like an accurate translation!

I'm obviously in the minority here because I think she is amazing. I don't like all the stuff she has done, but I think she is an outstanding example of a successful, clever woman who has used a small amount of talent to take her very, very far.
Aren't we all a bit conflicted about motherhood sometimes? Work, home, time with friends / partners etc. There can't be many of us who don't sometimes wonder if they should be doing something else!

Actually, I can empathise a little - when I'm at home day in day out with the kids, I think "Oh, I'd love to get some glam freelance work in London or somewhere" and then when a job does come up, I'm frantic to get back to the kids!

I think MT might be right, poor her and her kids. Don't particuarly like or dislike her tbh.

Don't feel strongly about her one way or the other but I like the fact that she's admitting that she finds it difficult, instead of making out that working motherhood is a breeze and she's a perfect mum like so many other celeb mums do. Not quite sure why people are getting at her on this thread - this seems to me to be among the least annoying things Madonna has said Smile

can you really be classed as a working mother if you have 2 full time nannies, a chef, a stylist, a driver, make up artist etc etc. I read an article when she said she had never once changed a nappy. As a 4 day a week working mother myself, I find it a little hard to relate!

She sounds like a pretty honest normal person to me.
Apart from the fame and extreme wealth. She is like any other working mum.Sometimes torn between family and work. That can make one feel 'crap'.
'With all that money she doesn't need to work'... come on... If your job is part of who you are and you love it.It would be like giving up a part of yourself. And to be a great mum you don't have to do that. And we all know 'whole' people/mummies are healthier to be around.I am sure she is not a crap mum.I am sure she juggles just fine.
PS.Crap mums...Great mums...Super mums..mmmm..Which are you? Smile
One more thing.I just learned that the article was in the tabloid newspaper The Mirror. Now thats a 'crap' news paper!
