Do you know what to do if a baby starts choking

Following the death of a 10 month old at nursery this week after choking on an apple, I thought you might like to see the BBC's interactive test on \link{http://tinyurl.com/l23jl\What To Do If A Baby Starts Choking} to make sure that we all know what to do in that situation.

i got 100% but then i was in st. johns ambulance when i was a teen so i was trained in all this stuff, don't think i'd have known it by judgement alone. feel very strongly that every parent or person in charge of kids should do a course in first aid.

I got 100% too - reassuring as I did a baby first aid course recently Smile - arranged by my hv.

Well I scored 100% but imo there's a huge difference between knowing the right thing to do and actually doing it when you're in a panic. And theory is never the same as reality is it - the whole idea is terrifying - what if you did it wrong.

I got 100 and done a first aid course a while ago. It would still scare the shit out of me to do though.

I did a first aid course run by HV and was advised to take baby and call ambulance if first round of back slaps didn't work. Theory was that at least professional help would be OTW, and you could then carry on with other methods.
Luckily have never had to try it.

Got a feeble 25%. But have managed to save my baby from choking to death about 5 times as he had severe tongue tie and really struggled with food at the start of weaning. Fortunately the tongue tie loosened a bit of it's own accord.
