Am I horrible for barely repressing a smirk... Blush

it must have been a horrible shock though (I smirked when I hadn't read it and thought she'd done it herself!) poor wee thing

Can't see anything funny in that story at all.

Report
marthamoo · 13/04/2006 14:59

That is just sick. That poor child - I bet she'll never be able to use a public toilet again.

FastasleepInTheHellPit · 13/04/2006 15:00

Well I'd laugh if my toddler glued himself to the toilet seat... cos it would be funny.... Blush (I'd be nice to him at the same time though but you can't say it wouldn't be funny come on!!)

Obviously someone doing it as a prank is horrible and very upsetting..

Not in the story, in the title, Callista! (Think her own Pritt stick rather than some stupid sod's superglue)

(This happened to pph once re a story about a woman who lived in a shed for 25 years or something - the headline was amusing, the details weren't. Hold tight, fa Grin)

HappyMumof2 · 13/04/2006 15:04

I did want to lol Fastasleep when I saw the title, don't worry, not just you Wink

Report
Callisto · 13/04/2006 15:05

Pritt stick isn't going to glue a child to anything other than a bit of paper so my first reaction was 'Some bastard has glued a child to a loo seat' not 'Oh how amusing'.

marthamoo · 13/04/2006 15:05

Was it Superglue? That would be really nasty - it's scary stuff, I won't use it (that's a 'man' job in our house).

Report
Janh · 13/04/2006 15:07

It didn't say superglue, I was just assuming - maybe it was Bostik or something - it was her skin coming out in lumps that made me think it must be superstrong stuff.

Poor lamb. SadAngry

Superglue dries pretty quickly though so if it was superglue it must have only been put there moments before.

Report
FastasleepInTheHellPit · 13/04/2006 15:10

I thought 'Oh someone's kid scaled something grabbed the superglue and stuck himself to the loo seat' that's what my monster would do...

Flurp callisto you're too serious today.

Report
HappyMumof2 · 13/04/2006 15:11

I didn't think it was deliberate either when I read it.

Go find your sense of humour Wink

Report
marthamoo · 13/04/2006 15:11

Superglue comes in teeny containers too - so maybe not, thinking about it. It's just horrible anyway. And I bet there will be copy cat ones now...do you remember there being a spate of robberies where shop-keepers hands were glued to the counter?

hunkermunker · 13/04/2006 15:14

I thought it sounded funny when I read the thread title, because I was thinking "toddler glues self to loo seat" in same way as "toddler smears sudocrem over front of TV" - I also hadn't considered the implications of removing said toddler from the seat initially, either.

But obviously Angry and Shock to find out that the story is actually "sick fuck glues child to loo seat" - nobody would find that funny on here, I'm very sure.

Report
FastasleepInTheHellPit · 13/04/2006 15:15

No it's awful! I don't think it will stop her going to public loos though... she might have to check every seat forever more Sad

edam · 13/04/2006 15:17

I also thought it was funny when I read the title - loads of exclamation marks made it sound jokey. Thought it was the classic kid in A&E with saucepan on head. But obviously not funny when you realise poor child was the victim of a nasty prank.

Probably some bored teenager who didn't realise how frightening and serious it would be.

Report
marthamoo · 13/04/2006 15:19

Probably because ds2 has had D&V for the last 2 days I thought - oh another kid with the squits. I was being metaphorical rather than literal.

Report
FastasleepInTheHellPit · 13/04/2006 15:21

Aha you see, for once, I'm not weird...

that's a first.

Report
Janh · 13/04/2006 15:33

It was superglue according to \link{http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2006170108,00.html\the Sun} (so we still don't know for sure Grin)
