Facebook log-ins 'to be used to access Government services'

Not a huge surprise really. FB is everywhere. I'm not a user, and there's no way I'd be starting to use social networking to do any Govt business!

Not just Facebook, "Post Office, high street banks, mobile phone companies and technology firms such as Facebook, Google, Microsoft, PayPal and BT" are all possible logins which might be included in the scheme.

I think I trust that slightly more than I trust the government to hold a single database with everyone's details on it when they want to access government services online, tbh.

Presumably there'd be an additional login for those who don't have accounts with any of the "providers"

Bugger that. I don't even use a real name on the Facebook account I look at once a year...

Wonder how much these companies will charge for the accreditation service? It's another way of channelling money overseas isn't it
