So, if you have an intermittant disability, you can't possibly need a carer?

That's bullshit. I don't have seizures every day - but when I do, I am unconcious and therefore need a carer. sometimes I can go 3 weeks without a seizure, sometimes I can have 3 in one day. Doesn't mean I'm not disabled.

And how many people will hold a job open for you to WORK and be in PAID EMPLOYMENT if your condition is intermittant, and therefore so is your time off sick - it can't be planned for, it might be every few weeks, it might be 6 times in a week, it might be literally an hour before your shift starts, it might be in the middle of your shift, necessitating a hospital visit or a return home to bed - and therefore leaving work short-handed.

It's practically impossible to get an employer to take you on under those circumstances.

An intermittant disability is no less disabling just because it isn't present 24/7.

If she's working now for 40 hours a week in a charity shop then she must have childcare sorted out. If she took on a paid job, they'll only be worse off if there are high travel or other work expenses. So why not get a paid job in a local shop or supermarket? I don't understand.

There aren't as many council properties for bigger families and the turnover is much lower than 1 or 2 bed. They could be waiting years for one to become free.

Rich, a lot of parents cant afford child care, doesn't mean they should not have any children .

Marne, people should only have children if they can afford childcare! Totally irresponsible to say you can;t afford childcare for three, and then go on to have three more. How do you suggest that is sustainable?

I can't afford childcare for my children, they have sn's (something i could not have predicted before having them), also child care was not something i thought about before having children.

Also 'if they cant afford childcare for the first 3 then having 3 more does not make a lot of difference as she already has to care for the first 3 (without child care) although i know you shouldn't look like it that way.
