So what happens now??

DD1 just told me about this. What a mess - no justice, no peace, so many lives messed up, and we'll never know the truth.

I can't help feeling a very clever and "lucky" man has got away with this. Too right JanH, the lack of resolution is very upsetting for all involved, including him, if he is indeed innocent.

i guess, unless the police find more evidence it will be left.

Of course, the man in the woods, nobody knows his name but he is about somewhere

That's the one nas (beety )
The usual one cited by prime suspects as the real culprit, but only the prime suspect seems to have noticed them, and only remembered them when being interviewed...

omg , I can't believe he's been acquitted after all this time. They lived on the opposite side of the park to where my grandparents lived and where I smashed my front teeth out. He has been proved a liar already but I suppose doubt is doubt. No justice for Billie Jo

Report
paolosgirl · 09/02/2006 13:57

OK, I'm confused (easily done). Is he in jail or out of jail?

Report
puddle · 09/02/2006 14:03

Jury couldn't reach a verdict Paolosgirl. As it's the third trial he's been acquitted and is free.

Report
paolosgirl · 09/02/2006 14:04

. Will he be retried, or is that it finished for him?

Report
puddle · 09/02/2006 14:06

He's free but not cleared, if you see what I mean. he's called for the investigation into Billie Jo's death to be reopened.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, I remember scanning an article on this and I am sure there wasn't any evidence linking him (may be wrong). He had blood on his clothes but he had scooped her up.

The blood was minute particles, if I rmemeber correctly? It was consistent with spray that you get from hitting someone with a blunt instrument. Allegedly.

I am convinced he did it.
Hope his conscience destroys him.
Oh yes the mysterious prowler who nobody else ever saw and was never traced...as if.
makes me cross and sad.
Sion Jenkins is a proven liar and wife beater and had been violent to Billie Jo according to numerous witnesses.Bastard.

I agree that he may be innocent. actual facts were that he was found guilty at first trial and that that conviction was overturned on appeal but he was then re-tried, twice juries couldn't reach a verdict, so in actual fact he has gone into the 2nd and third trials an innocent man.

One thing I have wondered - the family have sat in court screaming for justice etc, but why was that girl in foster care in the first place?

Report
Caligula · 09/02/2006 14:23

I think he may be innocent as well.

I don't think being violent automatically makes him guilty of murder. He may be, but a jury didn't think so twice.

Apparantly Mr B. was found and interviewed, but detectives ruled him out.
