Why is it that when a major muslim leader dies you might actually miss the news article on the front page as it's half way down the page...

As you know I'm a Christian - but giving so little prominence to the deaths of other faiths important people in this country hardly does much to help religious relations does it?

I kind of agree with you HRH, but the majority of the country are not muslim, and if it had of been a prominent figure in any other faith, the news may have concerned more of its readers..??

Next - but reading that link, this man has had a good effect on the lives of all of us, whatever religion, or none. I don't think it depends on whether he comes from a majority community, or not. The news would be pretty insular if it only covered the actions of those closest to the demographic average.

Yes it does seem that he had a good effect on a range of peoples lives, Blu. Its just the way of the world though isn't it - and to be honest these days if a high ranking member of any religion died half of the country wouldn't know (or care ) who they were anyway.

I wasn't suggessting that news coverage should be tailored to the 'majority' of the population, its just the way things are.

I do actually agree with HRH that it is not necessarily right though.
